Turkish Aviation Programs

I personally think something strange is going on with hurjet. Why postpone hurjet to 2023 is it because of the domestic engine ?

Look like both TFX and Hurjet has the same development pace, both look like will do detail design in the same time. I think it is not good approach. I prefer Turkey focus on Hurjet first, so there will be an accumulated experience gained in Hurjet before finishing TFX project.

That is also what I think. Most countries have accumulated experience from light jets as basis for building real jets.

Hürküs first flight 2013 (I see it uses Pratley engine, so no Hürküs with turkish engine).

According to wiki Hürjet started in 2017, but I remember it as having started much earlier. What I'm trying to say is some things don't add up.

I read from Indonesia Aerospace (PTDI) Director who said that as soon as N 219 finishes its development (inshaAllah), PTDI will start cooperating with TAI. There is indication than N 219 will be produced in Turkey to penetrate European market. Do you guys think small plane like N 219 has market in Turkey and Europe both for passenger and cargo configuration ??? There is also N 219 amphibious currently being developed.

US Textron has made similar class plane which is Cessna Sky Courier for US market and has been ordered about 100 planes from FED EX for cargo planes although the first flight is just made this April.

I think it would have better success in North Africa than in Europe. Also I think CN235 and newer generations would be quite attractive.

Seeing as how TAI, TUSAS keep developing sensors and what not. I bet we'd be able to transform these planes to https://www.tusas.com/en/product/meltem-iii-atr-72

And let's face it these planes AWACs are going to be in high demand.

One of my teachers, who he knew at TAI, said that this development / product job was put on the shelf. For the future, a new twin-turboprop engine aircraft would be designed in the university research centers as the main development base with using Aselsan avionics package and TEI TS1400 (TP1400). But I guess that was also canceled because TAI sees no future in this market.

If you ask my personal opinion, I love this type of plane.

Well, you can use the airplane for your turboprop engine development. I think this is why TAI is interested in both N 219 and N 245 program. And for N 245 program there is already MOU for shared work for TAI.

One of the reason of why Indonesia aerospace focus on turboprop is to avoid competition with Boeing and Airbus who have dominated jet engine passenger market, while small jet engine passenger market (private planes) is also not easy to penetrate with Bombardier and others already supply the market, the market is also smaller than passenger and cargo turboprop planes market.

Before Indonesia suffered from Asian Financial crisis, we try to develop N2130 (jet plane) that will challenge Airbus and Boeing market but the program is cancelled due to Asian Financial Crisis. New leadership management in Indonesian Aerospace try different tactic to grow their business.

THE TURBINE BLADE OF GÖKBEY: Thanks to TÜBİTAK, we have achieved striking success stories so far. This product produced in MAM; Turbine blade used in turboshaft engines. This fin is the component with the highest added value used in the engine of our national general purpose helicopter Gökbey. Without this part, planes or helicopters cannot take off. We are one of the 5 countries in the world with this capability. We have already delivered 160 units to TEI.

What powder material is imported?
The one that is used in Single crystal blades. And i remember they were working on this, maybe 2 years ago. In any case, it can be obtain from alternative manufacturers even if we can't produce it locally right now.

Quite you wrong. It is the only place where metal powder is not used. Metal powder is required for 3D printers
