Turkey Cancelled F-35 Order, To Be Re-Evaluated

maybe we can see the first TF-X Conzept in IDEF 2013.

Dont get your hopes up, We wont probably see a design until IDEF 2014. Its said it would take 2 years to design the aircraft, And thats just the a footstep of a long marathon, Models,Wind-tunnel test, mock-up, test-beds for avionics, serious R&D, and propbably foreing tech purchase or co-development will follow, Not to mension the succes rate of the project is still unknown.

ther is no paper and design of TFX.. Some good people wiht intention made nice things. It has nothing to do with this project. The project is not ready and people are showing nice models.:azn:

Yeah but those People who made this know how it will be looks like ,so i dont think there will another look or something very different.

After a year of bad press following the federal government’s botched estimate of how much it would cost to procure 65 of the stealth planes, officials from Lockheed Martin Corp. and Pratt & Whitney hosted a telephone press conference to refute perceptions of cost overruns and noting the involvement of several Canadian firms – including Ottawa-based GasTops – on the project.

Steve O’Bryan, vice-president of F-35 programs at Lockheed Martin, said the jets have undergone a 50 per cent price reduction compared to five years ago, and estimated that each plane will cost $67 million by 2020.

Guys this is not directly related to topic but this video seems very interesting. it is uploaded in 2010 but there are very interesting assessment about US air supremacy. The video says it has been changed. Please watch and share your thoughts especially about F-35 and F-22 vs T-50 and other Russian fighters. Thanks

Good choice, its better to stay with Block 52’s until Turkey finishes the TFX project, good for hedef 2023 plan.

The Only Alternative is the Typhoon :)

this graph is a French propaganda one similar to the "Leaked top secret Swiss tests". The French have been accused of bribing Korean Pilots to raise the score of the Rafale in similar tests, and that got Dassault out of the competition early which eventually the F-15K won.

Outdating EF wth those small-arse EJ200 engines...

No way in hell!

Why not ? He scan Start very Fast and come to an High Altitude.

Rolls Royce Engines are bad ? EADS Typhoon is bad ? You know who makes this Fighter ? It´s a RollsRoyce+Benz+Airbus.

Airbus is the civilian branch of EADS and EF's twin EJ200s can't give the thrust of a single PW F135

EF is a joke, Rafale is a worse joke. Nobody will give Turkey over %100 offset for a 5. generation fighter aircraft except the USA

Sir, could you please elaborate upon the urgency for procuring the F-35 as far as Turkey is concerned? From what I've gathered in the forum Turkey has deferred the order till the SOM carriage capable variants become available and due to certain issues with the source codes, right? Surely in time Turkey shall be able to work past these hurdles with the US and find a solution which is favorable to its interests, Turkey after all pulls quite a lot of weight in the region and alienating it will not serve the US's or NATO's purpose. But back to my original question, whats the rush- Turkey at the present moment already has a formidable arsenal with only Israel being capable of matching it in technological terms? Surely Turkey does not foresee any aggression directed towards it within this decade? Or will Turkey's force structures and naturally occurring modernization plans get pushed off schedule if a significant delay occurs, is that the reason for such a perceived urgency?
