TTP fighters infiltrate into Chitral and attempt to seize villages/posts 6/9/23

*What a terrible era in which idiots govern the blind" - William Shakespeare

Bad times ahead I guess

Pakistan is in a bad way of its own doing that’s the most tragic thing about our current mess ..
I absolutely agree. I am not buying this BS either. The way TTP has entered these areas doesn't make any sense.

Swat Drama 2.0

I guess it’s an attempt to get back support and continue milking aid.

No posts have been overrun. All attacks have been repulsed so far. UCAVs in air.
In counter-terrorism, there is an intriguing point:

Why didn’t TTP involve local assets as well as support to engage border post from within Chitral apart from the attack from Afghanistan ?

Why didn’t TTP coordinate the attack by summoning its fighters from with in Pakistan who openly attack other targets inside Pakistan ?

Pakistan needs to stop acting like a fkng bitch.

Arm the Tajik and Hazaras, set up training camps and instill anti-Afghan Khorosani nationalism in them, and support their war against Afghans indefinitely.

Until every Afghans doesn't denounce being a namak haram keep support up at full intensity.

@PanzerKiel @Signalian
I’m not sure of the reasons of withholding missile attack on TTP targets Afghanistan by Pakistan. GOP considers some factors that we are not aware of.

Maybe the reaction of pushtun community in Pakistan ? I don’t know.

Pakistan should respond back tenfold to the handlers in afghanistan. Think its about time we took wakhan corridor. It should have always been a part of Pakistan.
Now we have the proper justification, make 10 mile exclusion zone along the entire border. Burn the afghan cockroaches all the way to kunar.

Crossing border occurs when attacks inside cities are made. A border post being attacked means that border was not crossed. A border post is for the purpose to check cross border movement and keep border intact stopping any infiltration.

Chitral has been attacked before I think.

There were initial news at that time that the posts had been overrun, and local people were also under the same impression.

But good to know that isn't the case and it was thwarted.

Coming onto the larger picture though, things are heating up very much of late, and we desperately need to nip this in the bud before it gets out of control.

Need to get public opinion on your side as well, no war is fought without the public.

Does Chitral have a substantial terrorist presence?

So what I don't understand, What is TTP wants to achieve ? They infiltrate here and there, attack few posts and lets say they even capture few districts, then what ? of course Pakistan Army will try to fight them and if ground Operations failed they will just send in Fighter jets to bomb the crap out of them like they did back then, I failed to understand that why anyone wants to join TTP or fight for a cause which has no end or success ? TTP's fight is not for Islam, they have " shariah" in Afghanistan so why not just move their ? why they are so hell bent on Implementing Shariah in Pakistan ? When in Islam there is no concept of close border nations, so why not live in peace in Afghanistan and find wives and multiply, but they keep attacking Pakistan which shows that they are controlled by 1) Foreign powers, who wants to just keep Pakistan weak with its Army engaged in a guerilla Warfare and 2) Afghan Pashtoon nationalism is using TTP to weaken these areas, and gather support from locals so they can take back KPK/Pashtoon belt of Baluchistan.

Afghanistan and Pashtoon people in General are Barbaric Animals, they have no concept of how to live in a civilized society, all they know is to kill and fight, that is why even in Karachi the worse areas are those where Majority Pashtoon lives, they keep getting their people involved in violence, illegal activities, crimes, and I don't understand what is wrong with this race, are they all crazy ? Are they all just violence barbarians ? or are they all Pashtoon's just hate everyone/everything.

“Terrorists movement and concentration in Gawardesh, Pitigal, Barg-e-Matel and Batash areas of Nuristan and Kunar provinces of Afghanistan had already been picked up and were timely shared with the Interim Afghan government. Owing to the heightened threat environment, our own posts were already on high alert. The valiant soldiers fought bravely and repulsed the attacks inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorists,” the ISPR explained. Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.

The movement inside Pakistan is not picked up and that’s a concern. They seem to travel from border to different cities. However, it seems that :

1. TTP’s mission profile dictates to cross border from Afghanistan and carry out attack on the target area inside Pakistan. In this case they were heavily equipped and in large number.

2. Usually the attack inside a city of Pakistan, say Quetta, would mean, TTP entered, met local asset, got weapons etc from local asset, and attacked an installation or installed IEDs on routes. Those who survived the attack, went back into Afghanistan and came back for an attack again at some later stage.

For the past attacks in DI Khan, the usual attacks on police stations on Peshawar outskirts, Bannu etc., do we know if those terrorists operated locally or did they travel across the border before or after the attack?

How good is our intelligence gathering capabilities right now, where are they weak, and how can it be improved?

Chitral is an usual choice to target as typically they focus in the tribal Pashtoon belt and occasionally enter the more settled Pashtoon areas. What made Chitral special today?

This tells us that there is significant sympathy or support for the TTP among tribal Pashtuns, but something pushed them to target Chitral.

Currently:

1. FC is deployed internally - border posts and cities, towns etc
2. The 2 x corps HQ have all formations spread out in KPK and Baluchistan to back up paramilitary.
3. The rest of the army is deployed against India so a ground attack is not possible while drone attack is a possibility.
4. The reality is intel assets taking out TTPs outside Pakistan.

Well, situation has turned very badly for Pakistan once USA left the region.

Good Taliban vs bad Taliban= nowhere ?

Now even pakistan can not blame to any other country, Pakistan wanted that good Taliban should be in Kabul, and they got it, now must deal directly with them.

No one can help this now.. this path has chosen by Pakistan itself

Latest is more than a dozen terrorists dead, 40 injured. Own four Shaheed so far.
Inna lillahi wa inna illahi rajioon.

May Allah protect our soldiers and give them victory. Amen
