Even as the Jammu and Kashmir government readies to file an affidavit in the Supreme Court about the rape and murder of two women in Shopian, the troubled district has been hit by another shocking incident. In the latest a three-year-old boy and his father were gunned down late on Wednesday night (July 22) allegedly by militants in Dunardu in Shopian.

A group of unidentified gunmen reportedly burst into the house of Mohammmad Aslam Awan late Wednesday night and opened fire.

While Aslam and his son Arif were killed instantly, others in the family sustained injuries. In a similar incident in April this year, Aslam's mother Reshma was shot dead.

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the incident.

The police have sent the bodies for a post mortem and launched a manhunt for the militants.

"Indian army men killed Innocent child and blamed it on Mujahidins"

Bro who is gelani?

Sure they will be punished..........and they deserve to be killed ..and they will be killed very soon..

Gilani is a so called separatist leader....who stirred up A protest over death of a young lad ...who was killed by his friends...and Gilani blamed Police for killing the Guy....
Guys friends got arrested and accepted that they killed their friend over a love affair.....

Syed Ali Shah Geelani, used to be a popular politcal leader but his pro-militant views led him to loss of popular support. Of late he has been using any "violation of human rights" by police of army to do bandhs and block roads and shutdown business casing problems to the locals. His actions don't seem to reflect concern for Kashmiri people.

On the other hand Mirwaiz Farooq, who although being a seperatist leader has been more honest and has much more support than Geelani

Srinagar July 23: Unidentified gunmen shot dead a father and his three-year-old son in Kellar in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police said on Wednesday evening, unidentified gunmen barged into the house of one Mohammad Aslam Awan at Pahlipora Denaroo, Kellar in Pulwama district. “At around 8:30 pm, 10 armed men knocked our door. After barging into the house they were looking for Aslam, who was present in the house,” said Sakina Begum wife of the house owner.
“Aslam holding his 3-year old son Arif Ahmad Awan in his arms appeared before them. The gunmen took him to another room and fired indiscriminately, causing on spot death of my husband and three year son,” she said.
On April 17 unidentified gunman had killed Aslam’s mother Reshma while injuring him critically. The family members said Aslam’s mother Reshma tried to save her son but she was hit by a bullet. She died on the spot while Aslam was critically injured. “Aslam was taken to Shopian hospital and was later shifted to Srinagar hospital for specialised treatment. He had returned just five days back,” said Sakeena.
When contacted SP Shopian Shahid Mehraj said Aslam, who returned last week, was residing in the home despite security threat. “The investigations have been launched to ascertain the reasons behind his killing,” he said.
The police officer said the incident clearly indicates that it was the handiwork of the militants.

oh come on s90.. is it so difficult to condemn an terror attack?
or do you support these cowards who killed a 3yr old?
its really shameful that members maintain dead silence over killings by militants ... where as here's some golden quotes from members over "alleged killings by armed forces" some turned out to be killings in love triangle, but these members maintain their statement...

Killing women wtf .....Shame on India !!!! gives me one more reason to support Kashmiri mujhahidin .. they will fry TA 's a**

I thought India was the "world's largest democracy".
India is more like the world's largest hypocrisy.

tell your army to stop raping and stop killing them.

What we need to do is increase ISI budget and bleed india with hundred cuts

It's really funny how Indians are all of a sudden worried about Chinese Muslims while in Kashmir Muslims are killed and raped by IA.

Otherwise if Indian keeps on killing Muslims in Kashmir and when backlash receive from same people, then its pointless to shout and call India being victim of terrorism.

Militants barged in the residential house of one Mohammad Aslam Awan at Pahlipora, Denroo, Kellar, some 50 kms south of Srinagar. “They were looking for the house owner. When he alongwith his three year son appeared on the scene the gunmen took him to a separate room and fired indiscriminately on him. In the shoot-out the house owner and his three year old son Arif were killed,” a police officer said.

The wife of the deceased, Sakeena said that 10 armed men barged into their house and killed his husband and minor son.

In April this year, suspected militants had shot dead the mother of the deceased, Reshma. “On April 17 the armed gunman had barged into our home with an intention to kill my husband. However, his mother and my mother-in-law Reshma saved him and took bullets on her chest. She died on spot while my husband, Aslam received critical bullet injuries,” said Sakeena Begum wife of Aslam.

He was admitted in hospital and was only discharged last week. “Within a week’s time, the gunmen again made an attempt on his life and succeed to kill him this time,” said Sakeena with tears rolling down her cheeks.

A senior police officer of the area Shahid Mehraj said they have launched the investigations to ascertain the reasons behind his killing. “There are indications that his killing was the handiwork of the militants,” he said.

“We have launched a massive manhunt to track down the militants responsible for his killing,” he added.

Are really "militants" responsible?

You will be really surprised how much more hatred Kashmiris have for these militants compared to the Indian Army or Para military.

IA and Para military is accountable an atleast you can take them to court and punish them. Militants you can't do anything. Reason why the militants are responsible is because the person who died was in J&K police.

Sad thing he had just lost his 50year old mother to militants as well. Yes militants do kill and rape women too, only thing is they arnt accountable to anyone. That's why there is hardly any support for them.
