This Chinese Startup Just Landed a Rocket Vertically

In this episode, we do a deep dive into the recent successful vertical landing of a rocket first stage from iSpace, the first of a kind in China. While this was a low altitude demonstrator (max altitude approx. 180 meters), it highlights the increasing knowledge of Chinese space companies in their question for rocket reusability.

This episode discusses what this success means for the Chinese space industry, how iSpace compares to domestic competitors and the challenges they will face moving forward.

00:00 Who is iSpace?
00:40 Hyperbola-2Y Vertical Take-off Vertical Landing
01:15 Comparison with other Chinese recovery developments
01:34 The Hyperbola-2 rocket in detail
02:53 Challenges of the Hyperbola-2
03:35 The role played by the Chinese Starlink (Guowang)
05:14 Challenges iSpace is facing

China already so far ahead in space tech , the west are so scared they forbid western MSM coverage on china's advanced space capability.. the reason is the western govt dont want their population shock into reality that china already surpassed the west in every metric.

only elon musk admitted publicly that China is so far ahead in rocket / space tech

That is true. I think this is the first time any country land a rocket vertically. This means China would be the first country to create a reusable spaceship. China is indeed 'ahead' of US.

gambit , the troll who claimed he was USMC pilot , Vietnam era Pilot , F16 pilot , Bomber Pilot , worked on F35 development and still got kicked out and banned from F16.net ..

typical indian poster who use american flags on his profile everywhere and claimed to be veteran of USMC, USN and USAF in different forums..

China is better prepared for a modern moon manned mission than the US as the moon mission isn't only solely about the rocket.

The NASA director just inadvertently admits that.

China released their planned moon landing target , along with the follow up of moon base and support

when china officially release this kind of news , it is not for propaganda show , it is real project with real timeline and real achievable / milestone. Their Space Station project also way ahead of schedule and in due time China will bring international crew on board.. Cant wait for North Korean , Iranian , Pakistani and Palestinian Astronauts on board Chinese spacestation celebrating the multipolar world and watching live the obsolete ISS burned into atmosphere

He admitted he is actually part Indian biologically, but spiritually he is Indian.

This is the rocket that China is going to use for the Luna manned mission. Although it is only half-sized of the Starship, but it is using the proved mature technology, and the maiden flight will occur on 2026 for an unmanned mission, and 2027 for a manned mission around the Luna orbit, and 2028 will likely be the astronauts landing on the moon.

The Starship is super powerful, but it is still far from being mature and to be ready to host for the manned mission.

SpaceX- nearly 250 successful booster landings

China-0

But China is ahead in space tech, who are you kidding?

US aerospace dominance is unmatched.

Are you kidding me?
China apparently does not have the brains to think of anything new so they are leveraging SpaceX's grid fin idea to control landing direction.

Why is it when it comes to designs China is always the follower of the West?

Then you wonder why China was banned from the ISS. They'd spend 99% of the time measuring and inspecting every item.

That guy is trolling, absolutely no serious aerospace engineer on the planet believes China is “far ahead in space tech.”

Their spaceship is a Soyuz clone with upgrades...yet they are so fearful of changing anything too radically that they are even wearing the Soyuz flight suits...remember this design was introduced in 1973.

WTF?? Can things be more pathetic?

Are they serious?? WTF? This is laughable.

Meanwhile SpaceX designed their own..they were not afraid.

Apple to orange, the Shenzhou spacecraft was developed in the 1990s, and of course, during this era, China was more inspirational by Russian technology, but Shenzhou is still not an exact replica of Soyuz as you have proclaimed.

And you can see that China's next-gen spacecraft bears no resemblance to anyone, and the experimental test was done on May 2020. :coffee:
