a brief view of Army Led Relief activities in Flood Effected Areas:

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Navy Search and Rescue (SAR) Operation MADAD in flood hit areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continued for the fourth day. Pakistan Navy SAR teams have been augmented with two additional SSG (N)/Marine teams along with requisite equipment from Karachi.
Pakistan Navy SAR teams after completing rescue operation in Charsada area, have been reassigned to Nowshera Kalan region. Reportedly, 5,000 personnel were stranded in the area.
Due to continuous day and night extensive flood relief operations, despite experiencing technical/logistic problems, PN personnel have so far rescued over 2,000 personnel from Nowshera Kalan.
Affected personnel are also being given medical treatment where required. Cooked food and water for drinking have also been provided to needy humanity of Charsada and Nowshera.
Pakistan Navy, at this point in time of flood disaster at KPK, feels its obligation to stand by their needy brothers in distress with all the available ways and means. PN is in close liaison with PDMA, rendering assistance to effective humanity along with sister services and local authorities. SAR teams are monitoring level of water and state of flood.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Army contingents have been despatched to vulnerable areas of Sindh Sunday following a formal request from Government of Sindh in view of the impending flood.
Sources said that Army troops will assist the Government of Sindh and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in flood rescue operations whereas the latter are preparing for evacuation, relief and other support operations.
As per the decision, well before the onset of floods, heavy and suitably equipped contingents of Pakistan Army moved from Hyderabad and Pano Aqil Garrisons to Kandhkot, Larkana, Nosheroferoz, Dadu, Nawabshah and Thatta early Sunday morning.
Troops will remain in respective locations till the time the flood situation improves in Sindh.
Later in the afternoon, two more Army contingents of Pano Aqil Garrison moved to districts Ghotki and Khairpur.
Besides these troops, a sufficient contingent is also kept as reserve at Malir, Hyderabad and Pano Aqil Garrisons which can be deployed at short notice.
Flood Monitoring Cells are also functioning at the Corps Headquarters, Hyderabad and Pano Aqil Garrisons and monitoring activities.
In related development, the US announced on Sunday that it would make an initial contribution of US $10 million regarding the humanitarian assistance for the flood-hit people in Pakistan. A US Air Force C-130H delivered international assistance Saturday to Pakistan in response to catastrophic monsoon flooding. The first flight, flown by the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing from Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, delivered nearly 8,000 Halal meals.

it seems that the solution to alll problems of the nation lies with Pak Army,

May Allah Bless them..

regards!

no doubt army play a big role at the time of disaster. specially in developing countries bcoz developing countries has no good and efficient disaster management team. i think it's a better use of army and it's huge fund which spend on army.
GOOD WORK BY ARMY
