The whole idea behind cv class is to make a system that can do the job of more than one platform so me thinks the number of units is fine as its a pain in @$$ to maitain so many AC but yes anything less than 10 is just not american

If you look at it this way ,Baring the First 3 Nimitz class carriers , the rest are only about 05-25 yrs old and will serve for 25-45 more yrs
Infact by yr 2030 when all 3 ford class carriers would have been in service , the USN will only have retired the USS Enterprise , USS Nimitz and USS Eisenhower

While its true , from what i have heard , USN will only field 8 Carriers in yr 2040 and also 2050
