  • Terrorist was at large after killing security officials.
  • Security forces conduct joint operation to nab militant.
  • Niazi succumbs to injuries after being injured in fire exchange.
A terrorist who martyred Naveed Sadiq and Nasir Hussain — the director and inspector of the Inter-Services Intelligence’s (ISI) Counter-Terrorism Wing — was gunned down by law enforcement agencies on Monday in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's (KP) Kurram Agency.

The slain terrorist, identified as Umar Niazi, was at large after he martyred the two ISI officials on January 3.

The security agencies arrested the terrorist with serious injuries following an exchange of fire. Niazi succumbed to his injuries after a while.

Intelligence agencies nabbed the terrorist before he could slip into Afghanistan.

Earlier this month, the terrorist martyred ISI officials Sadiq and Hussain when they were at a local hotel in Khanewal, Punjab.

Sadiq, meanwhile, was martyred in Khanewal at a time when he was on a mission to take down the network of a banned outfit operating from Afghanistan.

South Punjab Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Sahabzada Shahzad Sultan said the perpetrators were on a motorcycle.

Both officials were posthumously awarded the Hilal-e-Shujaat and Tamgha-e-Shujaat.

Sadiq, who headed the ISI’s CTD wing, was awarded the Sitara-e-Shujaat on March 23, 2021, in recognition of his bravery and courage against anti-national elements.

He joined the police force as a sub-inspector in 2002. After appearing for a high-level exam in 2009, he was appointed to the ISI, the premier intelligence agency, as the assistant director.

During his tenure, the spy agency official exposed key networks of banned outfits. After months of efforts, he gained access to the high command of Daesh. He also neutralised the terrorists after raiding and finding their ambush site in Faisalabad.

Good riddance, this is the only way to deal with terrorist scum.

He shot himself while snap-checking.

Follies on part of security :

1. Raymond Davis knew he was being followed by professional agents, he killed them. These two agents from ISI couldn’t perceive they were being tracked and followed. They got shot.

2. Security footage, forensics, other intel methods lead to the hideout of militant after the militant makes a kill and then is tracked down. SOPs should be made to track potential militants before they make the move.

No thats not what happened. They were not tracked down. He was suppose to be informant. They met him on purpose. After the meeting, they were shot in the parking lot by this guy. This guy was a double agent.
It happens alot. Mostly when you hear Intelligence officer martyred, Its a situation like that. You can never be 100% sure that your informant will not double cross you. And no matter how vigillant you are, all it takes is a bullet shot and 2 seconds. Its not like Hollywood movies.

Raymond Davis had training from proper professionals, not desi minded uncles who are fuelled by ego and superiority complex

Our institutions continue to deteriorate in value and become worthless due to this mindset, not an ounce of meritocracy or accountability.

We have circuses in Pakistan with fancy names, not institutions. Institutions is what you see in USA, China, India.

It's about time we accepted this harsh reality and go for strict reforms, for the greater good and put our ego aside.

1. Double agents are also ascertained through methods. There is list of asset category.

2. Meeting doesn’t mean to lower the guard at any instance. They should have been vigil. If one got shot, the other should have taken him out.

Yeah he was attempting to cross the border and was questioned/checked by FC, he then shot himself to prevent himself being captured. This is what multiple local sources have been saying.

Field and tradecraft training in intelligence agencies is not given by the ones you mentioned.

Intel and spy games are a risky business after all.

As i said. You would never hear the 100 counter intelligence operations were Terrorists are nabbed, Shot or apprehended by agencies. Because its a routine matter. Even i personally know an incident where a Major(isi or not dont know) shot two people point blank who both were armed in a similar incident. But i know because of proximity to the incident. It never made to news.
But one such debacle will make it to the news.
Forget about ISI even local police is so good at these things.
(If they have pressure from higher ups to cover some s***)
Even US soldiers got shot inside USA outside a military base.

Defeats the purpose of Learning body language, face expressions, hand gestures, gait movement etc.

And that risks in loss of life, such as in this case. A mistake costs life.

Come on man..They were following him on bike. and there guns were holstered. God knows true story why they were following him.May be they were trying to Rob him.Or may be they were member of some religious organisation following him.
Reymond davis took the initiative and shot them point blank. It can be seen when pictures of bodies were out. Their guns were under there cloths tucked in holsters. and were petty handguns.
If they wanted to kill Him we all know how it is done in Pakistan. He would never have survived a targeted killing by an automatic rifle.

This case cannot be compared to reymond davis.
Stop bashing whole of your security forces and their training for what political manuvers the Generals do.

. Its not like Hollywood movies.
Since you mentioned that, it reminded me of some text from MI training school near Murree. I can narrate in own words.

1. When approaching the asset, do not approach from same direction but different directions.

2. If approaching from sane direction, maintain distance of 1.5 to 2 meters, stand at an angle of 30 deg or more from one another, never in same line or single file shoulder to shoulder

3. Even when in pairs, one agent contacts the asset, the other keeps a lookout and approaches when necessary or when motioned by the other agent.

4. I explained body language etc in above post. Add clothing to that, which clothing can conceal a weapon where on body.

So there are SOPs for all Ops and meetings. It has nothing to do with Hollywood, there are safety procedures in place since one mistake costs life. The list is long but i mentioned the relevant ones.
