Tehrik-e-Taliban Splits, Member Forms Taliban Islami

So he will be fighting against the TTP now or against the Pakistan Army only but with different tactics ?

From what I know, he wants (with his so called supports) concentrate on the American presence in Afghanistan.

So there are some human beings in Taliban...or is this some kind of ego show??

the top slot of TTP was courrpted with foreign money, the lower level commanders were bluffed and now they are coming to their senses.

its a good development. the ones who are separating from TTP are focusing more on social issues instead of killing.

Another story from today indicates that one of the main TTP trainers of suicide bombers was killed in a 'drive by shooting' by unknown assassins ( go ISI!) .

Some good developments these. Now we need the US/ISAF/ANA to stop sheltering terrorists in Eastern Afghanistan, and stop them from carrying out attacks against Pakistani villages and troops.

What happens if they turn to kidnapping and drug trafficking...lets wait and see if they are for the good or worse.

Intel has succeeded in splitting these turds apart can only be a good thing.
Playing Devil's advocate for a moment, such a split by local Taliban commanders, especially if connected to the Haqqanis, would be necessary for building bridges with the Shia tribes in Kurram, that have been the target of atrocities and violence by the TTP.

so will this new group be considered Good Taliban or Bad Taliban?????

Exactly the people both Shia and Sunni have suffered because of this, and hopefully speaks of better days.

thats not a new thing we had been having kidnapping always in that area. druggs is not their forte

depends who is naming them
for Nothern Alliance and Indian Agents in Afghanistan they will be considered good taliban , if they keep their activities only in Pakistan
they will be considered bad taliban if they get bored and blow up something in Afghanistan.

as far as we are concerned they are only bad taliban. by the way do you conder CIA agents that are talking to Mullah Omar as good CIA or Bad CIA?

Senior commander quits Pakistani Taliban
By Javed Hussain
PARACHINAR, Pakistan | Mon Jun 27, 2011 9:56am EDT

(Reuters) - A senior militant commander has for the first time quit the Pakistani Taliban, a defection that could weaken a movement that poses the biggest security threat to the U.S.-backed government.

Fazal Saeed Haqqani, who was the Taliban leader in the Kurram region near the Afghan border, told Reuters he left to protest against what he said was the group's "brutal" attacks on civilians.

The Tehrik-e-Taliban (TTP), or Taliban Movement of Pakistan, an umbrella alliance of about 12 militant factions, is blamed for many of the suicide bombings across the country.

Saeed Haqqani will now fight the TTP, and would continue to attack U.S. troops in Afghanistan, said his spokesman, Hafiz Saeed. His 500 fighters have formed a new group called the Tehrik-e-Taliban Islami (TTI).

That's good news for the Pakistani military, which has failed to break the back of the TTP despite a series of offensives against its strongholds along the Afghan border.

"Saeed's announcement has opened a floodgate for the Taliban. It benefits the government because more cracks might be seen in the Taliban ranks in coming days," said Rahimullah Yousafzai, an expert on the Taliban.

Mahmood Shah, former security head of seven semi-autonomous ethnic Pashtun tribal regions along the Afghan border, said: "It's a very bold decision. It must be worrisome for Taliban militants."

The United States has been pushing Pakistan to step up its fight against militancy since American special forces found and killed Osama bin Laden in a Pakistani town on May 2.

The TTP has put the army on the defensive, carrying out suicide bombings, assaulting a naval base in Pakistan's biggest city Karachi and deploying hundreds of fighters in large-scale attacks on security forces.

Saeed Haqqani is said to have close ties to the Haqqani network, one of the fiercest Afghan insurgent groups battling U.S.-led forces in Afghanistan.

This is all such a gutter of a mess that I hope somebody came and decided, to hell with all these sons of bi**** and finished them all, fuk em.

Life is so short and precious and look at these buttholes, what positive contribution do they have to the society?

All they do is form these violent groups and shoot and kill and bomb people. Judge poor women's character and issue horrific punishments upon them. Deprive their children of education and poison their minds with hate.

They claim to be protectors of Islam and if you asked them the most basics of Islamic teachings, they wouldn't know. They are bigger enemies to Islam then the infidels they fight.

Dear readers, TTP suicide bombing is now an activity for the whole family. Fathers and mothers, older sons and daughters, even young children. And who is their target, innocent fathers and mothers, older sons and daughters, even young children? These acts of desperation, are not as random as we might believe. For not only is this the way the TTP attempts to gain power, this, dear readers, is the way the TTP will rule. Foreigners, the evil and desperate, and the weak-minded, will target the innocent, the righteous and the patriotic; Anyone who stands against the TTP will die for not letting TTP treat them like subjects instead of citizens and for not letting the TTP intimidate, kidnap and rule them by fear.

Family attacks prove that TTP have once again surpassed war crimes and human rights boundary lines in a desperate attempt to achieve their evil agenda. Should our partnership ensure the safety of our nations? Yes it should. Should our partnership protect the innocent and the righteous? Yes it should. Should our partnership eliminate the TTP? Yes it should.

The US recognizes and is willing to share with Pakistan the sacrifices necessary to protect our land, our people and future generations. The US fully supports the great nation of Pakistan in its mission to defeat terrorist organizations like the TTP.

Then when is the US going to take out the sanctuaries enjoyed by terrorists in Eastern Afghanistan, from where they continue to launch raids into Pakistan, numbering hundreds of insurgents at times, and have caused more casualties in these past several weeks than all the alleged violence attributed to the NW based groups.

Your posts here, and the 'friendly ally intent' they seek to convey are contradicted by the incessant propaganda propagated by the Western media, attributed to 'anonymous sources' in the US intelligence, military and administration, that continuously vilifies the Pakistani military and intelligence.

Actions speak louder than words, the saying goes, and US 'actions' towards Pakistan do not support your 'friend and ally' rhetoric.

The US betrayed Pakistan in the past through sanctions and embargoes, and it continues to betray Pakistan through incidents like Raymond Davis's shooting rampage, the illegal Abbottabad Raid, sheltering terrorist leader Brahamdegh Bugit in Kabul and facilitating his exile to Switzerland, and the refusal to include Pakistan as a particiapant in the negotiations with the Taliban.

The US needs to demonstrate through actions, not just this rhetoric we have been listening to since 2001, that its intent towards Pakistan is sincere and friendly.

Fazal Saeed Haqqani, a commander in the Kurram tribal region, separated from the Tehrik-e-Taliban

I thought ISI and military was always referred to as refusing to attack the Haqqanni network as they were anti US only. when did this tribal group start attacking Pakistan? has this been a shift in their stance?
