Techie robbed of goods worth Rs 11 lakh - The Times of India

HYDERABAD: Burglars gained entry into a techie's house in Chilkalguda and escaped with Rs 11 lakh worth property on Sunday. The burglary occurred at software engineer Rakesh Goud's house located next to the Arya Samaj building at Medibavi in Chilkalguda. Rakesh works at NTT Data International firm in Madhapur. At 11 am, his mother Shivani locked the house and went to attend a spiritual programme in Uppal.

The incident came to light when Rakesh returned home at 4 pm. "He found the door lock broken and the iron safe containing gold and cash empty. The burglars used the safe's key left on it and took away all the valuables. We could not even get any fingerprints ," Chilkalguda inspector (detective ) Khaja Moinuddin said.

As per the complaint, burglars stole 20 tolas of gold and Rs 5 lakh cash from the house. Rakesh informed the police that his younger brother's marriage is scheduled this month for which they had purchased gold and kept cash ready at the house. Police booked a burglary case under section 454/380 of the IPC.

In another incident, burglars struck at a software engineer's house in Sanathnagar and escaped with Rs three lakh worth belongings on Saturday night. The burglary took place at software engineer Ananta Raman's house in Avanti Nagar Colony . According to the police, Raman along with his family members went to attend a function at a relative's house in the city on Saturday night. The theft came to light when they returned home on Sunday morning.

"Raman found the main door lock broken. On entering the bedroom, the family found the iron safe open and valuables inside missing. The burglars stole nine tolas of gold from the house," Sanathnagar sub-inspector (SI) K Vidyasagar Reddy said.
