What's new

T-129 Atak & Turkish Attack Helicopter Programs

1:35 - Fikri Isik asks if CATS will replace Aselflir in the future, video cuts short before response is heard. But from body language it seems like a yes, hopefully Aselsan takes more orders so that they can spend money to increase production capacity. @cabatli_53 bro do you know current production rate of CATS ? I think you posted it in the past, around 30-40 turrets a year ?..

CATS offers 3rd generation domestic QWIP thermal detector's superior capabilities on lighter weight FLIR body. 300T has 2nd generation LWIR detectors.

All new thermal products will be produced with domestic QWIP, SWIR and NIR detectors based on mission requirements.

Change for old T-129 or just new incoming ones?

If we use CATS, it will change center of gravity so that new tests will start again, time loosing.Maybe the last 20 helicopter will use cats due to changeing center of gravity.

MMW have its own advantages ... i.e. Their area of coverage is way less than a MMW radar ...Moreover weather conditions can effect FLIR range as well

FLIR vs MMW radar

FLIR is in Red
