I guess he was mistake for a spy by the paranoid Tehran regime.

Here a complete Spanish TV program talking about him, a few days ago:

His crime was travel and visit Iran. So beware and avoid travel to paranoid regimes.

It's obvious for everyone that he was a simple plain soccer fan, inoffensive person.

The fact of to be mistaken for a spy it shows how low are Iran intel capabilities, and you can imagine how many others can enjoy the same luck inside Iran with less visibility.

Do you think the Spanish government will accept easily that they sent a spy to Iran?
Millions of people every year visit Iran. Why only him detained?

You should ask America why they used your country against Iran.
Why your government just accept everything America order to them? Your country is a colony of America now?

If that is the case, why Iran doesnt provide a evidence of that?

He is not condemned, he's just jailed.

He was in path to Qatar football meeting.

Iran has definitely talked to your government.
We exchanged many spies these years.

But why was he so stupid? This is not the first time random people have been detained in Iran for all sorts of reasons. Iran seems to advertise their policy pretty well. It is hard to empathize with people who go to North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan etc., and then start crying uncle when detained. In fairness, those countries are rather famous for their policies.

If Iran provide publicly a single one prove about that, then it's ok, but that has not happened.

Right now the message is: Dont travel to Iran, and it's a shame, Iran is plenty of history and it could have a good source of income through intl tourism.

He was visiting a tomb, he wasn't meeting with Kurds leaders or something like that.

I guess if he wouldnt be Western, nothing hadnt happened.

A guy from Spain goes to Iran to visit a tomb? Doesn't pass smell test. It is not Taj mahal.
And about the "Western" canard, do you recognize these?

that was the tomb he went to visit, "Mahsa Amini tomb".

He was definitely a spy or a crazy lunatic on a mission to baptise Iranians.

That explains it all. A foreigner visiting the tomb of a woman killed by Iran's morality police obviously raises the hackles of Iranian government.

He properly ventured to restricted areas that he shouldn't have as a tourist.. This people are tiring they send some folks to no go security zones and when they are caught they will say his crime was tourism

just a simple tourist soccer fan.

most of tourists are not poltiical experts like the average defence pk forum user.

:enjoy:

I think it's obvious that he's not a spy neither dangerous.

But maybe corrupt regime knows it and they just want to use him as hostage to ask money and things to Spanish state.

She didn't killed by Iran police. Its a lie from western media.

No, Iran wants to make sure that those killed by the regime are not made into martyrs by foreigners visiting their graves. They don't want Mahsa Amini or Armita Geravand to become Nelson Mandela. If they keep this Spanish guy and people like him for a few months in jail, news spreads and people will stop doing that. Iran is already pissed that many of their women are getting Nobel prizes. They don't want to become a place of pilgrimage for Westerners.
