Pakistan can contribute with money as someone pointed out Chinese are having problems with the funding.

Exactly. China can hardly fund both J-20 and J-31. If Pakistan contributes 1 or 2 billion, it would do wonders towards J-31. :p:

The story of JF17 is diff.. J10 first flight(2008) was one year before the joint venture contract signed(2009).. Adding PLAF not inducted any JF17(have better option j10).. Now guess the answer..

J-10 first flight was in 1998, not 2008. China does not want a light fighter like FC-1, so why India wants to induct a light fighter like Tejas? Is the India air force too low in funding? :o:

Joining the FC-1 project was a brilliant choice. J-31 / F-60 is a 5th generation fighter built by AVIC, also for export. Pakistan joined FC-1 with a 500 million USD contribution. What about joining F-60 with a 1 billion USD contribution? The result could be JF-26. JF standing for joint fighter. 26 means 10 more than 16, that is, to replace F-16, just as 17 means 10 more than 7, replacing F-7. :p:

Not just Pakistan but also Libya, Algeria and Tunisia along with Yemen should join in the project.

Easily double the lifetime cost for an F-16. Nopes we cannot afford it in numbers it will matter. India will have categorically superior firepower in sea, land and air by the end of this decade. While we will still be grappling over TTP and the likes.
Seeking teammates from pakistan for deathmatch and coop sessions in Tom Clancy,s HAWX at garena.Hoping to have first pakistani virtual fighter pilot clan there.

By joining what Pakistan can contribute ? nothing even you probably cannot contribute any inside information regarding western fifth generation fighter you did in case with J-10 development as you don't have any experience yet , so what is the logic of joining nothing . what you can expect that after 2020 license production of J-31 in Pakistan where some component may be changes as per Pakistan requirement if you think necessary .

That was a mistake bro.. I mean j10 first flight (1998) was one year before than china- pak joint venture signing(1999).. Also china not inducted jf17 because of j10.. What does that means??
That means China signed the project not for the fighter (they already had j10) not for Pak's tech (you know pak tech in 1999).. But only for money.. Now the question is why ? The answer lies in the history of Sabre2 or super7 or fc-1 project.. Now i think you understand what i meant in that post (nothing about funding ya light fighter)...

The answer to your why is maintenance and operating cost. PAF doesn't have the huge amounts of funds that PLAAF has. The backbone of PAF must therefore be a light fighter which is easy to service. This is why PAF cannot use J-10 as its backbone. Same reason Brazil went for Gripen rather than Rafale. The key is Gripen has a much lower operating cost than Rafale, despite having about the same fly away cost. :p:

Fifth gen fighter projects cost tens of billions of dollars.

No country in the world will share their cutting edge technology evenfor 10 billion $$$

As for paf joining j31 good luk I wish India could join avic heck the Indians will give five billion never mind one billion

A good Question ....
Should Pakistan join China J-31 / F-60 project?

But a million Dollar question is.....

Which area Pakistan can contribute towards this project... Means to say ....Pakistan is Master into which area....??

Without a doubt, J-31 will be a big seller in the near future. The US will not sell F-35 to Saudi Arabia and UAE, for instance, which would pose a threat to Israel. Should Pakistan be a partner in the J-31 project, Pakistan would stand to gain a percentage of the returns on J-31 exports. Methinks it be a good choice to join this project. :bounce: My take is that a contribution of 2 billion USD would be sufficient to make Pakistan a major partner in J-31.

Your 1 billion ya 2 billion will be peanuts for China (>$3.5trillion reserve).. Also Pak can contribute 'zero' in tech.. India and Russia spending 30 billion each for FGFA(6 billion R&D+26billion procurement).. Also India can contribute much in tech part (avionics, software etc..with the help of other nations like Israel or France)..Pakistan need 10-15 billion extra for procurement ya production (if there is a jv)...
Now the question is " as Pakistan can contribute almost nothing in tech ya money, Why China want a Joint Venture"??.. Possible answers are..
1. To counter India..
2. To promote export(j31)..
For countering India they will neither give you their latest techs nor share their profit in export+ to promote export they seldom want a Jv with Pak.. That is above two aims can be met by only selling these planes to PAF(If they have enough money) without a JV.. [JSF f35 type partnership(eg-level1 partnership btw UK and USA) is the best option if China accepted]
:rofl::rofl: awesome joke dude :lol::lol:

You guys don't even have the $500 million for completing the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline which has stalled due to lack of funds and you want to invest $1 to 2 billion for a project that little is known of? For such a project, China would be spending at least $20 billion for R&D, prototypes, testing etc. Your $500 million or even $2 billion would be less than peanuts!

I thought the energy requirements for Pakistan were a far greater priority than throwing money on such a project?
Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline program stopped due to some political reason .

And what experiences in what areas did the Indians share with the Russians for the T-50? What understanding of 5th Gen aircraft do you still have? Read some report that the Indians were unhappy because they were hardly participating in the development of the craft but they are still there aren't they?

Insha Allah Pakistan will be do it. All over the world Pakistani nation have success. Our enemy's always burn in our Atomic plant and our Shaheens Air FORCE

Here topic is about what Pakistan should or can....???.... Don worry about India ...Indian has made significant achievement on Design , EW, Mission Computer.....ETC... Pakistan is Just nowhere compare with India....

On Topic:
Please spread some light on my question.... Which area Pakistan can contribute towards this project... Means to say ....Pakistan is Master into which area....??

This idea that Pakistan cannot contribute so Pakistan shouldn't join is stupid.

This is like saying because your child can't read, so he shouldn't go to school. It's because Pakistan cannot contribute much at this point that they should participate and build up a background in aircraft design.

What do you think will happen in 5-20 years? Pakstani engineers will suddenly have something to contribute based on nothing?

All new grad programmers are useless in a company, they must walk you through the company's policy, hardware, software, project management plan, as well as a ton of stuff. But does this mean that a newbie shouldn't work? Hell no, it means you work harder until you can be a positive influence in the company.

Pakistani engineers comes from a different background and a different culture with a different way of thinking, this is crucial to any team, different train of thoughts. Why is America successful? Because people of different mind sets contribute to a single projects, so that a problem can be seen from multiple angles.
