I too have been on many hardcore defense forums (no offense, but this one does not really qualify as one anymore) and have heard professional soldiers from many countries discussing this.

Unlike civilians, soldiers are not known to be politically correct or diplomatic in their opinions. Definitely not when its their lives and those of their mates on the line.
