RAWALPINDI: Federal Minister for Railways, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that all the issues between the government and Benazir including the third stint premiership have been resolved, while the snags in the talks were more from the Q-League.

Talking to Geo News in its program ‘Subh Say Geo’, the federal minister denied the news regarding pressurizing Nawaz Sharif through Dubai and Washington for stalling his return and said that the homecoming of Nawaz Sharif would not bring any change in the country’ situation.

Talking about the current situation in the country, he said that he was seeing a horrific scene in the future, as the dangers lurking on the borders and the capital was in the target of blasts. He said that in such a backdrop, we should get united for facing the danger to the country’s security.

Regarding Nawaz Sharif’s popularity, Sheikh Rashid said that that the political popularity in Pakistan was similar to that of the stock exchange, which never remains ultimate. As regards talks with Benazir, he replied that all the matters have been finalized, but the deadlock on the issue of third stint premiership remained hanging. He said that he was/is/would remain opposed to Benazir, but the difficulty in the talks was more from our party. He said that unfortunately our politicians including me were unwise, devoid of imagination and were deprived of the thinking beyond their lust for power.

Its interesting to hear such statements from Sheikh Rashid Ahmed who has somehow forgot the promise with which he got the MNA's seat.

Smoking a cigar on TV (for him its a status symbol while its absolutely stupid to smoke cigar in public) he believes himself to be the greatest politician after Jinnah and Zulfiqar.

Coming back to his statement has he ever told the one responsible for all the mess to step down and leave the way for the elected people of Pakistan. For eight years now Mush has been in power and all the turmoil was created during this time.

Mr SR must be thinking of his own future when he made that comment. I don't think Mrs Bhutto or Mr Sharif will have much use for him.

Best Regards

Mr SR has everything to say about everyone and every issue in the world....except the Pakistan Railways....!!! I assume he still railway minister.

God knows how many newly named trains he has inaugurated but the actual number of trains is same
