Today "the birds" see a message which is not from normal channel, maybe too sensitive, i seen it in the Tianya, "the bird" could not confirm the authenticity of the message, but hope that this news is true, what is the specific news?

The Venezuelan national newspapers openly declared that the country no longer needs to export china 330000 barrels of oil daily in order to repay the loan. On the contrary, small investment bank BancTrust said PDVSA now can decide by its own to export how much oil to china. In addition, the loan period has been expanded 3 years , and may be extended indefinitely. China's Ministry of Commerce has confirmed the changes, and points out that this is the requirement made by venezuela. Recently, as oil prices continued to slump, finance minister of venezuela visited China to discuss the problem and hope to get more loans from China; there is news that Venezuela would like to give blanquilla island, one of Hailiesi islands in the Caribbean which is about 64 square kilometers to China, as a payment of China's $50b debt, and apply for another $50b loan.

Blanquilla Island (Spanish: Isla La Blanquilla) a translation of La blanquilla Island, is an island in the leeward Antilles on southern Caribbean sea, administratively belonging to Venezuelan federal territorial jurisdiction. Area of 64.35 square kilometers.

Send Chinese "Workers" to build another "Casino" on the island in Caribbean Sea, also can have bigger firecrackers.

Bad trade. China would have to create an entire naval flotilla dedicated to the island which would be of limited to no combat value if the USN showed up. A drain on resources, impossible to defend, and it creates a strategic headache where there is none previously. Venezuela, GTFO. China wants money. (Although Venezuelan wominz might be OK )

It's not even as small as I thought. But it would be pretty expensive to develop the island because it's so far away from Chinese mainland and typical Chinese shipping routes.

I'd be pressed to take it. Gives China excuse to run "anti piracy" missions anywhere in the Carribian sea for "national security".

uhhh if someone wants to sell land, as in transfer sovereignty. you take it (assuming 0 or friendly locals). it doesn't matter where it is or if resources exist there.

who knows what the future holds, alaska was worthless once too. and if one day you need a base there, well there that. theres literally no down sides.

Offer it to Pakistan ..... they might agree with this kind of deal.

Hard to defend. US might "liberate" it.
Sure, not without starting nuclear WWIII. Actually the island is quite handy if China build an military airstrip and place some Y-8G/X surveillance aircraft and keep harassing USN fleet. It will look fun.

China has a massive oceanic fleet and China has demonstrated far overseas development like Africa.

That does sound tempting. Not realistic but it would be hilarious. :enjoy:
