Saudi Arabia orders 300 Chinese strike-capable reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles

I respect all Muslim nations, but as brothers, some one tell them guys you are losing your cool. not everything bulk is good also policy shift should work out in there won favor not other way around.

there is big need of continuity in policy and if one thinks of policy change, there needs to be alot of work done before that not like Gargash, one day he wakes up and starts trash talk. nations can not be built on money.

Wing Loong II
Saudi Arabia has signed a contract for the acquisition of 300 of the newest Chinese strike-capable reconnaissance unmanned aerial long-haul vehicles Wing Loong II (also known as Pterodactyl II).

China’s state-run Xinhua news agency reported on 28 February said the deal represented the “biggest overseas purchase order in the history of Chinese [UAV] foreign military sales”. But the identity of the customer and the size and value of the contract were not disclosed.

The export order was revealed on the same day that the Wing Loong II completed its maiden flight.

The new Wing Loong II is a long-endurance strike-capable reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by Chengdu Aircraft Design & Research Institute (CADI), a division of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).

CAIG formally unveiled the Wing-Loong II during Air Show China in November 2016. The Wing Loong II has a payload of 400 kg, which can be used for armaments and/or ISR equipment. The Wing-Loong II can reach a top speed of 370 km/h and service ceiling of 9,000 m. It has an endurance of 32 hours.

While observers have noted that the Wing-Loong II bore a strong resemblance to the MQ-9 Reaper, the Wing Loong II is a smaller and lighter platform than the Reaper.

Can't blame Saudis....1 gray eagle cost UAV = 500 Wing loong II.

you don't need 300pcs.

These WING LOONG II having strike capability may be distributed among Islamic
Coalition of 39 countries ( 7 per country) and each country shall operate from its territory having a control room and all such control rooms shall be supervised and controlled by a super control room in the Head quarter. The apprehensions would be the members countries shall become vulnerable for spying. SMIQBAL.

Three Hundred? LOL! They must really like it. Saudis dont usually make such a big commitment unless its Yankee stuff. This must have really impressed them. Congrats to both the Chinese and Saudis.
I'd say it's more to do with the US not willing to sell armed drones to KSA, rather than being impressed with Chinese drones.

Congratulations to China & Saudia but Saudia should be buying from Pakistan perhaps?

Our defense and military industries prospers and is world class anyways but our own people should be ordering from us. And we Pakistanis need to stop importing technology from China but directly either from Russia or the US. With all due respect to China.

What is wrong with Chinese technology, sir?

HUUUUGE!!!!!!! What a shift in geopolitics!!!! Looks like another Bhutto-Kissinger-China scene!!! Is this a signature that the Pak-China relationship is going to the next level????

Times they're a changin...
Pakistan took full control of its domestic and foreign policies during Gen Raheel Shareef.
He was brought in to get rid of the pro Americanos on the top, like Musharraf and the one who followed him...

so things are different and will keep going different.

Pakistan and China will soon pretty much depend on each other due to the interlinking of all economic and strategic interests...

I am sorry? Why would you want to call the EU that ?
The EU is our preferred ally - if the EU wants to be N-zi then we support them, if they want to be against n-zis we support them. Just like we support Turkey if it wants to be Islamic or Secular. The EU/ US bloc put Pakistan in its most favored nations category. The EU are a beautiful pople and that makes them part of the Pakistani family. Besides the EU is a follower of the religion of Ibrahim RA and anyone in a Pakistani forum who tries to put divisions between Pakistanis & our preferred allies and family is not really cool.

We don't use "enemy of our enemy is our friend" logic. We make friends with our friends because they are our friends. We don't make alliances of convenience. None of Pakistani alliances are alliances of convenience (enemy of enemy or friend of friend etc.). We made alliances with the UK/US and for the sake of the west, for capitalism and for our afghan brothers we went ino Afghanistan and shed the blood of our own for the sake of Afghanistan/ the west / Capitalism / Nato.

The Chinese are highly westernized and communist and that is why they are ok in our books but we prefer Russia/EU/UK to China any day. The Chinese know that. Turkey is our ally for these reasons and more. We share with Turkey a closer tie of religion and on top of that Turkey is highly European so they are loved by us. Ataturk is adored by us. You cannot call the EU Nazi without harming Turkish interests. May Allah SWT guide us.

China is ok but we prefer Turkey & EU/ US/ UK / Russia. I know you would prefer that as well. The Chinese got what they have from the Russians/Europeans. We should try to turn to the source not rely only on the Chinese who learn everything from the Russians. Our Saudi allies should turn to Pakistan for drones or they can turn to Turkey for drones and help out Turkish industry but they ought not to turn to China which has already got a lot of business.

I agree. China would not be the preferred ally for any country. However, India is the world's largest and fastest growing arms market. The US/EU/Russia would never ally Pakistan if it meant losing access to India.

The US has no interest in selling Pakistan advanced weapons that it needs to fend off India. It would only export anti-terror surveillance equipment and small firearms to you.

China is the special case. Because they rival India, China doesn't care about not selling to India.

The China-Pakistan alliance is based on necessity, not preference.
