Vladimir Monomakh, Russian newest strategic nuclear submarine, arrived in Viluchinsk (Kamchatka) after the interfleet transfer.

The submarine was moored near the pierce of modern infrastructure, which had been created for submarines of new generations.

Chief of Staff of the Pacific Fleet Rear Admiral Igor Osipov met the military sailors and congratulated them on accomplishing assigned tasks.

The Borey class (Russian: Борей; transliterated as Borey, NATO Reporting Name: Dolgorukiy class, after the name of the lead vessel, Yury Dolgorukiy) is the new class of nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine produced by Russia and operated by the Russian Navy, while the Severodvinsk-class submarine is the new Russian attack submarine. The class is intended to replace the Delta III, Delta IV and Typhoonclasses now in Russian Navy service. The class is named after Boreas, the North wind.

Does Russian naval doctrine is same as USSR which depended on subs for offense and surface combatants and airforce for sea denial/defence?

It suits them even now because it difficult to have sea control against USN.
