Russia will increase its pipeline gas supplies to China by “almost 50%” this year, according to Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

Russia’s oil, gas and coal supplies to China increased last year, Novak told news channel Rossiya-1 in an interview aired on Sunday.

“Last year’s gas supplies were at 15 billion cubic meters. In 2023, we expect 22 billion cubic meters, an almost 50% increase,” he said, adding that the volume should reach full capacity in the next two years.

Russian energy giant Gazprom is aiming to increase supplies to Asian markets, particularly China, as gas exports to Europe have dropped sharply due to sanctions over the Ukraine war.

Last year, Gazprom supplied 10.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas to China via the Power of Siberia 1 pipeline, which has an annual capacity of 38 billion cubic meters.

Power of Siberia 1 doesnt have a 38 Bn m3 capacity yet. Another section under construction gives an expected capacity of 38 Bn in 2025.
Still a long way to go before the 150 Bn (pipeline gas) EU export market is replaced.

Construction is speeded up by China. China builds infrastructure fast.

Russian dont need weapons they have a very deep industrial strength when it comes to weapons production

what Russia needs is the Chinese strength in cash and Chinese have very strong economy too powerful

Chinas economic might backing Russia will create a nightmare situation for West and actually it already is

2023 projections state that China-Russia bilateral trade will reach $215 billion thats the real help China is giving Russia

This just reminded my why Im ignoring your posts. You just make things up.
Let me try: China is slowing down the construction, mainly because they are not part of it. China builds infrastructure slow. How was that?

Russia is trying to ditch the dollar. Lets see how the ruble is doing. Notice any difference? I dont. Guess the chinese are going to suck Russia dry with this “help”. The ruble is becomming worthless against any currency.

Keeping the gradual devaluation policy on the ruble is a policy choice.

They can easily peg it at whatever they want if they actually wanted to.

They are keeping the gradual devaluation policy to prevent hyper dutch disease.

The primary reason why Russia's currency was way too strong after the war started is because it took time for them to transition from having USD/EUR/JPY/Etc. reserves to RMB/CNY/Gold reserves.

Or they are running out of options (reserve foreign currency) to back the ruble.

Russia runs a deliberate gradual national currency devaluation policy.

They simply weren't able to keep that policy for a while after the war started due to having to completely change their reserve basket.

I detailed this on this very forum right when the war started.

Anyone (Non-American) that read my post could have made a massive amount of money (Not me sadly, as I do not have access to ruble exchange due to being an American).

Russia runs a current account surplus and has negligible debt.

This is why they desperately need a deliberate gradual national currency devaluation policy, as otherwise they would be running into hyper dutch disease, exactly what happened early on during the current escalation.
