Russia Signs Deal for Syria Bases; Turkey Appears to Accept Assad

President Erdogan bent over too quickly to the anti-Assad coalition of the unwilling. Only to be left dangling alongside the French.

And increasingly the scenario with the Afghan refugees in Pakistan will repeat with Turkey, which has already seen some of their first attacks against not only the government but civilians.

Turkey needs to get rid of as many refugees as it can, if that means dumping them into Syria...

That's what every sane person in Turkey wants because every real Turk (who cares about his country) thinks and knows that the syrian refugees are only causing problems for the country. They do not bring and wont bring any positives to this country and to it's development and they will not do it in the future no matter how many sweet words some politicians from the rulling party use to show them as our brothers. They are not my brothers and they will never be... they are not their brothers either but when they give them Turkish ID's and citizenships Syrians will vote for the RIGHT party so it is all cool I guess, if it helps them to stay in power forever.

In the last years Turkey spent a huge amount of money (some say it is around a total of 25$ billion) on sheltering Syrians and offering them conditions and priviliges it never offered to it's own citizens. 3 million people who don't want to integrate, who hate our country but use it's resources are on Turkish soil and are fed with the taxes of the regular hardworking Turk. Like the number of all social parasites we already had living in Turkey was not high enough already.... Perfectly fit men who decided to run away from their country because they were afraid to fight for it and came to Turkey to stay on the beach the whole day, to disturb people on the street, to steal, harass animals and women who walk around them and etc. Maybe that's what those highly qualified engineers, doctors and entrepreneurs from the rural parts of Syria that those AKP members and fanboys keep talking about are best for...

ps Most qualified syrians already left for Europe and Canada/USA but who knows maybe after Erdo offers them the citizenship they will gladly leave the West and come back to Turkey to live as good Muslim brothers with us. :smitten:

Good development...Finally peace will return o Syria...Turkey and Russia can work with each other to stabilize this region.

erdogan and akp actually have an easy pass every time they screw something up, whether it is foreing policy or domestic since we the people are not asking questions. they think we are all dumb.which is true to some of us...

Assad is already practically gone. If you think anyone can maintain power even though they are the cause for a massive civil war then you are all deluded. The process will probably be more slow and dignified. For example he will finish his term and then get diplomatic immunity or something. The Baathist regime will remain only the head honcho will change, probably another Alawite candidate.

Actually Erdogan called Assad in the opening days of the revolution

Both were close and friends had regular contact

But for some strange reason Assad opened fire with live ammunition on the protesters?? I mean wtf

They were protesting and they got live bullets ?? Imagine Egyptian military did that where would the world be ?

Erdogan offered Assad riot gear and crowd control but Assad refused he replied with such a heavy hand it was totally not called for

Then after the peaceful protests armed protests started and we know how that ended

Erdogan actually tried to help Assad in the early days but Assad was just hell bent on killing anyone who opposed him

Assad made many big mistakes in the beginning even the Iranians told him to stop he didn't listen to anyone

He did what his father did in 1980s Hama but at that time there was no social media

But off course his father was a good friend of Soviet Union and Putin is ex-KJB so he didn't forget the Syrian favours of tartus and Latakia naval bases

A very sad chapter in history and a very sad chapter for this Ummah

@aziqbal do you have any source that Erdogan really did that? First time I hear it. Also what is this Ummah thing you're talking about?

Assad is a terrible dictator, so was Sadam, we need to learn our lessons and need to stop forcing regime changes all over the world. Not just Turkey, in general. Stability > War.
