Russia plans more aircraft, helicopters at airbase in Belarus — defense minister

Close friend of mine a couple of months ago went to Belarussia. Prior to that, he supported Maidan, but after the trip changed his opinion. He was struck by the cleanliness of streets in Belarussia, low prices, very high quality food products. On the streets there are no homeless people, drunks and beggars.
There will always be people unhappy with the situation. For example, Russia gives after 2008 several thousands passports to immigrants from Europe and America.

I have even saw many Belorussians who were entering EU countries and moving towards Western Europe as EU was engaged in boarder agreement with Belarus to stop the inflow of illegal immigrants into Western Europe. Even EU countries have gave many permits to Ukrainian, Russians and Belorussians and daily at least 10 to 15 persons were applying for Asylum seeker status.

Joint military drills are another important area of bilateral cooperation, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said

MOSCOW, December 23. /TASS/. Russia plans to increase the number of aircraft and helicopters at the airbase in Belarus in an effort to strengthen joint air space, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Tuesday.

Shoigu held talks with his Belarusian counterpart, Major General Andrey Ravkov as part of meetings of statutory bodies of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), a Russia-led military alliance of former Soviet states.

“I am ready to discuss today plans to continue our practical cooperation,” Shoigu said. “This concerns S-300 systems, the establishment and deployment of the airbase in Belarus with the increase in the number of aircraft and helicopters,” he said.

Speaking on the level of military cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the air defense sphere, Shoigu said “today we are ahead of everyone else on the post-Soviet space.”

Joint military drills are another important area of bilateral cooperation, Shoigu said. “They have become regular and full-scale,” he said, adding that next year more exercises are planned.

The drills codenamed Union Shield-2015, due to be conducted on the Russian territory, are expected to become a major event of joint training of the Armed Forces of Russia and Belarus next year.

The Belarusian defense minister thanked Shoigu for the aid provided by Russia. Belarus will have all four S-300 air defense systems supplied by Russia on combat duty by October 2015.

Ravkov congratulated Russia on the first launch of a heavy-class rocket Angara-A5 on Tuesday, saying this is a “serious step towards the space exploration” and Russia's might in the space sphere is unquestionable.
So Russia has decided fully to go after NATO and Europe interesting move and times I must say

This will let for American equipment like Tanks, Armour vehicles around the bordering NATO member states. Hope that Baltic countries get some fighter planes from Americans which can be operated by them.

People are leaving from every country in Europe. Even from Switzerland. However, this does not negate the fact that Belarussia has achieved some success in development. This is a good country, and if you are not a sexual pervert and not a traitor-liberal, then you'll love it. There's clean, cheap prices, low crime, friendly people. Very good country. From Belarussia leaving ten times less than from Ukraine, Moldova or the Baltic Sea (in percentage terms).

Don't mind if i say so. People from Eastern Europe have always moved for Western Europe, United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and this is being going on since the last more than 100 years and even now the same is happening. But now in this 21st century if EU member states are moving to Western Europe is understandable but cant understand why people from Belarus and Russian Federation are moving there and applying for Asylum seeker? And when people from Asia or Africa even as legal immigrants then they have to go through lot of hardships. Even in India there are thousands of Russians and people from Eastern Europe but its not the case when its about Indians.

From Russia now leaves 10 times less than it was before Putin. From Belarussia leaving only a few thousand a year - it's completely normal figure.
Nothing good that people from Eastern Europe go to the West. This means that they are resigned to the fact that their country - it is an eternal cesspool and there never will be a normal life. They run out at a pace, as if their most cherished dream - to leave their Motherland and work for pennies (they paid several times less, then locals) as a waiter or laborer.
Belarussia is a wonderful country. There's a quiet, measured life, people have a stable job, the prospects for the future. Full social package to every worker in the country. Of course, there are people who want bigger wages - they go to Russia because Belarussians in Russia paid as much as the citizens of Russia (a few times more than illegal immigrants from Ukraine or Central Asia).

People of Eastern Europe go everywhere not just west even to India, China, Middle East and even to Mexico but they don't let people from other nations to live in peace and harmony and this is reality. Numbers of Russians is way high in UK, Germany, Norway etc and its the same with Ukrainians and Belorussians. Work is work and i don't think any work is small but the system which is placed in EU is very systematic , who should get work and where etc and its more easier for the people of Eastern Europe to get work compare to people of other nations.

In Russia there are about 5-6 million Ukrainian workers, (1-2 million more in Europe). Of them - only 400,000 legally. Belarussians working in Russia - a few hundred thousand, and most of them - legally.
From Russia left mostly in 90th. Now the flow has decreased tenfold. If now someone leaving Russia - that for legal work, mostly highly skilled professionals.
At the same time, Ukrainians, Poles, Balts, Bulgarians, Romanians - go as slaves for the worst and low-paid jobs. They simply do not have work at home. Any work.
Baltic States, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria - from here people run like there is epidemic of Ebola virus in countries. These countries will never achieved prosperity because even their own citizens leaving. They prefer to be a slave in the West than to create prosperity in their own homeland.
At the same time, Belarussia has reached some heights in comparison with its western or southern neighbors. Any Belarussian is guaranteed to have a job, housing, education, health care. At the same time in Belarussia the lowest prices in Europe.
This is a good country. However, there are people who want higher wages - these people go into allied Russia, they have the right to work there legally and receive the same salary as the citizens of Russia.
All of this Belarussia reached through tight integration with Russia.

Belarus is going to receive four S 300 in 2015.Su-27 (Flanker) fighter aircraft would be based at the new complex."A Russian Air Force Base in Belarus will be opened in 2016 and Su-27 fighters will be based there," Col.-Gen. Viktor Bondarev said.

I have missed it. Belarus is already having S 300 , seems around 5 and going to get more 4 in 2015.

Though it was originally developed in 1979, the s-300 missile defense system remains a strong deterrent to air attacks. Here Belarus parade's their launchers through Minsk on their independence day in 2013.

Lukashenko managed to quell Russian plans for an airbase on the territory

The Russian Air Force appears to have recalled their Su-27SM from Belarus, Bellingcat group concluded after having reviewed satellite imagery of the 61st Fighter Airbase in Baranovichi.

Russia had four Su-27SM Flanker parked in revetments on the Quick Reaction Alert apron since December 2013. The multi-role fighters originally deployed as part of an advanced element that would eventually form a full forward deployed squadron.

Space snapshots acquired between May and September have not shown the return of the aircraft to the apron. A review of other active and reserve airfields also indicate they were not redeployed within the country.

Although no official reporting has mentioned the relocation, their absence may be a further sign that Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko managed to quell Russian plans for an airbase on the territory.

Further yet, Belarus may have even found a way to get new equipment to support the declining air defence arm. Earlier in February, the country signed a deal with Irkut to procure new Su-30SM fighters, despite lacking funds for the purchase. Details regarding their potential sale were not made public.

The SU-30SM are expected to replace Belarus' ageing MIG-29 of which 10 were recently refurbished by the 558th Aircraft Repair Plant.

Belarus will acquire SU-30SM, S-400 and Sosna air defense systems to secure their air space but Russia plans to send 24 SU-27SM3s, 1 A-50 AWAC, 5 Mi-8s, 3 Il-76s to airbase in Belarus and said in a report if the base is passed they will send MiG-31s and SU-34s as well.

I think MiG - 31 are already deployed in Belarus.

EKRAN JSC is the only Belarusian enterprise, which specialises in manufacture of air navigation systems, coupling units, control units, aircraft checkout equipment for the military Su-17, Su-24, Su-25, Su-27, Su-30, Su-33, Su-35, MiG-21, MiG-23, MiG-25, MiG-27, MiG-29 and MiG-31 airplanes and the civil An-12, An-26, IL-62, IL-75, Yak-40 and TU-134, as well as their components, spare parts, units, assemblies and equipment.

Belorussians are having bad economy and majority of them enter in EU as stateless persons and Asylum seekers. EU to strengthen its borders from 2002-2012 allocated over €50m on border management projects in Belarus and even borders were quite open for the Belorussians which resulted in more Belorussians illegally entering EU.

As of January 1, 2012, 7,391 stateless persons are registered in Belarus, 6,896 of them are permanently residing and 495 are temporary residing. In 2011, 1,348 persons (all categories) received the Belarusian citizenship. It was 11 % decrease of permanently residing stateless persons in Belarus in 2011.

I have never met any Belarussian asylum seeker in Western Europe. Have met thousands of asylum seeking Indians though!

Some even in Lithuania...here you go:

13,000 Indians applied for asylum in the last 2 years

First tell me what is meant by Asylum and who wants to get asylum seeker status ?

Indians dont get asylum in EU , its hard for even legal Indian migrants to have a life in EU .

If you are talking about economic migrants in Western Europe from former Soviet states, then the majority of them are from Ukraine and not from Belarus.

A huge number of asylum seekers today in EU are fake and lot of them are from India as well.

And wrong, Indians do get asylum in EU (Dalits, Christians, Sikhs etc). Check your facts.
