What's new

Rupee loses further ground to trade at 164.5

It's a nice time for dollar buyers. Very high profit at least better than stocks.

Iran is on the verge of a war and Pakistan is going Venezuelan way, not a good sign for India.

Btw dollar is going up in interbank not open market.

True. And that's the first time the interbank rate is higher than open market.

So this is government driven - for what benefit?

News is that this is for amnesty scheme and loan repayment ... So that people can exchange cash $ to deposit rupee for declaring. And this will continue until 30 June.

It looks like dollar will end up 200 here even before end of this year, may be in September.pakistan can become Somalia if this situation continues.fatf problem is also there and blacklist in October will end every hope of a successful recovery.also foreign companies will wrap up their operations in Pakistan.i think if this situation continues for another year,we might see civil war in Pakistan.

Between who?
Awam vs Elites, don't worry khayein gai nahi tou larain gai kesey.

These "opposition parties" desiring for a civil war to start don't know that the next civil war in pakistan is not going to be between "poor awam" and "Imran Khan" but rather between "poor awam" and billionaire "Nawaz Sharif", "Asif Zardari" and their cronies. It is going to be a battle for reallocation of wealth and assets and who has them certainly not Imran khan.

But they are not doing civil war in Pakistan.
Dude why should we give our food to anybody , as Bharwana guy pointed out this devaluation is actually deliberate and will increase export , lessen imports and people will queue to exchange dollars for PKR so "ache din coming for Pakistan" , they don't need others.
