Well, PSLV is most reliable and successful launch vehicle for India with total of 21 lauches till now out of which 19 were successful and 1 fail, and 1 partial failure. Here are some facts about this vehicle.

The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle,usually known by its abbreviation PSLV is the first operational launch vehicle of ISRO. PSLV is capable of launching 1600 kg satellites in 620 km sun-synchronous polar orbit and 1050 kg satellite in geo-synchronous transfer orbit. In the standard configuration, it measures 44.4 m tall, with a lift off weight of 295 tonnes. PSLV has four stages using solid and liquid propulsion systems alternately. The first stage is one of the largest solid propellant boosters in the world and carries 139 tonnes of propellant. A cluster of six strap-ons attached to the first stage motor, four of which are ignited on the ground and two are air-lit.

The reliability rate of PSLV has been superb. There had been 21 continuously successful flights of PSLV, till September 2012 . With its variant configurations, PSLV has proved its multi-payload, multi-mission capability in a single launch and its geosynchronous launch capability. In the Chandrayaan-mission, another variant of PSLV with an extended version of strap-on motors, PSOM-XL, the payload haul was enhanced to 1750 kg in 620 km SSPO. PSLV has rightfully earned the status of workhorse launch vehicle of ISRO.

The PSLV has launched 55 satellites / spacecrafts ( 26 Indian and 29 Foreign Satellites) into a variety of orbits so far.
PSLV has a flyaway cost of 17 million USD for each launch.

Apart from this ISRO is also working on GSLV Mark III , Which will be going to have capacity of launching Satellite's upto 4500 to 5000 kg. Its first launch will be next year in 2013.

Indian pslv is very similar to Iranian Qaem SLV which is under developing ...

Any pictures of this? I think 100 kg is too less. Because irans satellites are heavy i think.
Also any idea of when it will come?

I think it is something like Russian Start-1 SLV

I know 100kg is too less but we are talking about GEO not LEO

i think the next rocket Iran make should be able to carry around 400 kg like the Israelis

PSLV can carry upto 1050 kg in GEO n 1600 kg in LEO

you mean GSLV ?

I know but +100kg payload to GEO means +500kg in LEO

we can't send heavier sats without cryogenic engines

I think we will done this job with Simorgh 2C heavy launcher in 2016

Nope i m talking about PSLV only it can carry upto 1050 kg to GEO n 1600kg in LEO infact during Chadrayan 1(Indian Moon Mission) PSLV carried upto 1750kg...

N a good news for u PSLV does not use Cryogenic engine...:enjoy:

GSLV Mk3 will have a capacity to carry upto 4-5 tonnes to GEO...:yahoo:

Good start by Iran, and i am sure Iran is going to be major player in space technology by the end of this very decade. :tup:

By the way, capicity of PSLV is as stated below.
Typical Parameters of PSLV :-

Lift-off weight : 295 tonne
