KARACHI: Allama Tahirul Qadri’s refusal to join Imran Khan’s Raiwind March has finally elicited a response from senior PTI leader Shireen Mazari who on Tuesday drew comparison between the Pakistani cleric and Fateh Gullen, self exiled Turkish preacher who is accused of setting in motion failed putsch of July this year.

“Can't escape this sense that TUQ is Pakistan's Gulen in so many ways!,” said Mazari, Without elaborating on what made her draw parallels between the two clerics.

A rejoinder from Raheeq Abbasi, a senior PAT leader, seemed to imply that it didn’t go well with Qadri’s party, as he went on to hold “people like” Shireen Mazari responsible for the failures PTI and Imran Khan have faced so far.

PTI and PAT are dubbed political cousins by analysts after both the parties separately launched long march in Islamabad and camped outside the parliament for months in a bid to topple Nawaz Sharif’s government in 2014.

Qadri’s refusal last week to participate in PTI’s proposed march to Raiwind surprised many as he was being expected to join the protest aimed at mounting pressure on PML-N government.

Can't escape this sense that TUQ is Pakistan's Gulen in so many ways!

@ShireenMazari1 PTI can never progress or succeed as long as people like you are in this party. My sincere sympathies with IK & others

When two blind get together, they think the other one's not blind and can lead the way. Well, no one can lead the way as both are blind and so they are both lost like this fool mullah and IK . And they will remain lost. They are opportunists not leaders, leaders bring about a positive change in people that improves people's well being and they do not put people's lives at risk!! They show progress themselves and lead as an example.

Someone is really feeding nonsense to IK about Qadri sahib. IK will be alone with him. He needs to sort out party issues and invite him for Raiwind march.

IK shouldn't rely on any qadri/padri/bhutto etc and first clean his own party and simultaneously continue questioning the government's governance, corruption and administration of affairs.

Healthy and constructive opposition is always necessary and useful in a democratic society. And for all practical purposes, IK "is the only" opposition. All rest are compromised and partners in (crime?).

The existing government, should be questioned, yet at the same time, allowed to continue till the end of it's term. Pakistan at this moment cannot afford any political turmoil.

OMG finally someone woke up! Imran should have kept some control on his mouth while speaking about TuQ's daughter. But an old man can get quite desperate being single, so I guess he couldn't help it :D

PAT has no intention of getting any seats , there sole purpose is to satisfy the finances of their cult leader Qadri

by the way Shiri Mazari should have not issued any statements , as PTI is thin on alliances , the raiwand march will produce nothing , but IK is a true person if he wont stand up then who will at least he is doing his duty , i know army should remain separate from politics but they shuld put pressure on N league to form commission on Panama papers , letting go this issue means opening an open/public door for politicians to indulge in such activities .

By the way Superme Court takes notices on minor issues why cant they take issue on this

I trust and respect PAT but not Tahir-ul-Qadri. Tahir ul Qadri plays with Pakistani People feelings. He has no respect for the people who were killed in Model Town. He just do Drama now and then.

Imran Khan is a very Charismatic Man. But he should kick out those Morons who are derailing the party true motives. Justice (Retired) Wajihuddin Ahmed is a good person IK should bring him back. Faisal Wada should be the head of PTI Karachi because Imran Ismail is too Soft. And Ch.Sarwar should head PTI Punjab. Enough with Shah Mahmood Qureshi's sluggish ideas.

.

Supreme Court and its honorable Justices and Judges don't have the balls to take on King Nawaz. They are scared of him because he will attack Supreme court again just like he did in the 90's.

Dr. TUQ cannot be trusted in anything. He is a coward & only knows how to talk & run away like a sissy girl.

Exactly my thoughts. After the August march of 2014, IK could have so easily made the Govt do reforms in the whole process of elections and could have empowered/fortified election commission beyond any political interference s but he chose stubbornness over sanity by sticking to his main agenda of getting the premiership and over throwing the current premier from the post. If only he would have used the created pressure in favor of aforementioned reforms, the coming generations would have stood indebted to him forever and there would have been many true and rightful premiers to rule the country in coming decades
