Terrific News...... Even though Chashma-3 was supposed to be operational in 2016, a bit of delay is understandable. As they say "Better late than never".

Future of Nuclear Power Generation is bright as the newer Plants will produce 1120 Megawatt each with the next generation Power Plant possibly reaching 5000 to 10,000 Range.

By 2020, 9,000 Megawatt will be produced by Nuclear, as there are 7 Nuclear Plants under construction, each producing 1120 Megawatt.

Nuclear is the Future........

WOW. This will certainly boost our economy and nuke capability. Pakistan Zindabad. China Zindabad. Long live Pakistan & China brotherhood. Nothing on this earth can break this bond.

:china::pakistan:

August 2016 is the mentioned date, any idea what's their capacity.
340 MW each. Now if i say only, people will say i am from PTI.
Trust me, i have experienced this.

ground breaking in 2013,
did it again in 2015 this time calling it "inauguration" of the project. Not much details are available till then but as per my discussion with someone at Chasma, Chasma is the priority and nothing considerable is happening at KANUPP as yet apart from some slow construction word etc. That is at a very slow pace, The K-2 and K-3 are however planned for 1100 MW capacity each, that is significant.

Good news but pace is too slow. Too little and too late. Pakistan should have added 20,000 MW of nuclear power alone at least five years ago. But we have incompetent govts. Everything takes 4 fold longer time than necessary due to sluggish bureaucracy and harmful democracy/politics. Pakistan has lost billions of dollar due to lack of energy just to put things in perspective China added 30753 MW of wind power alone in just one year-2015 and there is no energy crisis in China like in Pakistan but it is planning for the future and also want to switch from dirty fossil fuels and coal power to more renewables, a very sane decision. Can we learn anything from our old friend? or we will keep investing in dirty and old fossil fuel because kickbacks are quite high in it.

So much could have been done , dams built plants inducted or other projects completed.
Successive governments have been incompetent in more ways than one.
Albeit at slow pace but at least the ball is rolling, the news from Thar coal project is also encouraging, hopefully in the next few years we will see the end of the power shortages.

slow pace at KANUPP means no power to karachi industries for next more years means high production costs closure of export houses reduction in exports and tax collections government itself creating problem for them and nation also WHY , WHY WHY

Shhh,,, dont talk like this,,, Jamhoriat ko khatra haa!! :lol:

On a serious note, it is slow as i mentioned but it is not "non-existent". Construction work is moving forward albeit slowly, but forward at least. What we need to do is to speed things up there as well as it is KANUPP that will contribute something substantial to the national grid with 1100 MW capacity each.
