President to seek full membership of Pakistan in SCO

I made a correction.

Mate Russia may want Iran but China wants Pakistan. You guys are so transparent and self serving in your comments

How long does it take before an application is approved or denied? I mean they can seek it all they want how long until it is answered?

I think there is no formal time limit. China has indicated it wants Pakistan in. Russia has indicated it would like India and Pakistan in. Iran there are the question of UN sanctions to be addressed first. But push comes to shove these 4 are due to become imo a good counterweight to Nato

That's true but Pakistan is not so important for Russia.

Russia has made it very clear on that point...

Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), named after Shanghai, China.

You are forgetting that China and india hate each other, and China is the founder of this Organization.

More like a counterweight to Nato

I think China is not in favour of India

If India continues to represent American interests in our neighbourhood China and Russia will have no choice but to exclude India. Which imo would be a shame

Exactly china never in favour of india joining the SCO

Now that the Indians declined the US to go against the China, and the recnt Agni v ICBM launch to cover whole nato n china...things might be changing for china.....more, india,s trade has been increasing with china towards hundred billn dollars n more...these things count.

Exactly china never in favour of india joining sco....

Ok

About pakistan?

Ok

About pakistan?

So?

India and Pak trade
Pak and Russia trade
Pak and U.S trade
Russia and U.S trade
China and Taiwan trade
Turkey and Greece Trade
Saudi Arabia and Iran trade
North Korea and South Korea Trade

... and the funniest thing is, they all either have increased or have become major partners.

Ohh god, can't belive we are livin in 2012?
& we keep fighting like, childern playing in joint criket ground?
No, one sees how fast we & indians are getting close, why? Because india knows, MR penta wants, indian help, in the exit of US from , afghanistan & that,s it .
All this crap taliking, against pakistan is just a show of words, may be a few billions to send, poor indians in afghanistan, as a low , paid chowkidar?
No, I don't think so?
SCO can become a gaint, if both pakistan & india jointly included, with both sides having , their insurers backing every, deal its dam, big thing n iam taliking here, its already in process, India don't want to, end up with americans demanding , to take part on a attack against IRAn ? Right!
Divide & rule, (america) ?
No more , no more!

In international politics, diplomacy is the key @all . Stop linking the enmities of China vs India and India vs Pakistan. We are living in a world where US, for test purposes drops two atomic bombs in Japan and then enjoys a long-time cordial relationships afterwards as nothing happened. We have seen examples of arch-rivals who are now enjoying warm relations. So stop the fight. It is all about diplomacy and foreign policy. We should bear one fact in mind that there are no friends in politics. We all have mutual gains in the region and in order to fulfill them, every body is playing its part.

Russians still haven't forget what Pakistanis did to them in Afghan War. Just wait for Russian revenge.

what about 71s and the threat Pakistan facing from westren side in 80s. Did you forget or Russia?

Bloc led by China, Russia says no to Syria intervention

BEIJING | Thu Jun 7, 2012 7:06am BST
(Reuters) - Leaders of a bloc grouping China, Russia and Central Asian states called on Thursday for dialogue to address the violence in Syria, a likely indicator that little will change in discussions on the crisis at the United Nations.

"The Shanghai group member states are against military interference in the affairs of this region (Middle East and North Africa), enforced 'handover of power', unilateral sanctions," a joint statement from leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation said.

"Member states stress the need to stop any violence on the territory of Syria wherever it is coming from, they respect broad nationwide dialogue, based on independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria."

The statement means that there is likely to be little change in discussions at the U.N. Security Council on Syria, even after troops and militiamen loyal to President Bashar al-Assad were accused by opponents of a new massacre of scores of villagers.

U.N.-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan, the former U.N. secretary-general, is to brief the Security Council in New York on Thursday. U.N. diplomats said they expected Annan to present the Council with a new proposal to rescue his failing peace plan by creating a "contact group" of world and regional powers.

On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart, Hu Jintao, urged international support for Annan's peace plan, despite calls from Arab and Western states for a tougher response to the bloodshed.

Russia and China - permanent members of the U.N. Security Council with the power to veto resolutions - have stymied efforts by Western powers to condemn or call for the removal of Assad, whose forces, the U.N. says, have killed more than 9,000 people in 15 months of bloodshed.

The statement was issued on the last day of the two-day annual summit of the SCO, made up of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Iran, India, Pakistan and others attend the summits, but not as full members.

The six leaders also warned that "any attempts to solve the Iranian problem by force are not acceptable and lead to unpredictable consequences, threatening stability and security in the region and in the world as a whole".
