What's new

POF signed a contract with FEDARMS USA for a Assembly line for the production of FEDARMS AR-15

its a handout. that's why its been accepted. it must bear 0 cost to POF to have machines and production started.
Probably. It’s an assembly deal. Meaning parts will come from this company.

You literally need basic assembly benches and minimal tools like pin press and stuff to assemble these ARs.

So yeah, you are right. It’s almost no investment.

deal includes 3 calibres but it would be wise to get the new 6.8APC as well. go all the way not just part half way.

AR is the most successful rifle design, Period!

There is a reason why everyone after going in a circle ended up back to the AR design.
You have to understand Ar platform will not be successful in the subcontinent.

Changing to new calibre requires revamping the whole assembly line from top to bottom and that requires money 6.8 ain't coming any time soon or if at all.

I wouldn’t touch that fury round for now. The thing is a mini-bomb with 80-100k psi chamber pressure.

It has a kick even with dampeners in the spear design and with additional recoil management in suppressor. Plus don’t know how bad it would be for barrel life.

It needs a purpose built design, simple caliber conversion won’t be feasible for the above reason in my opinion.

The jury is still out and till we know how it performs in wide scale use. Stay away.

India is still using AKM for the majority of its needs they have mere 50 thousand AR platforms in use which should tell you something.
they just contracted with SIG to get all the FAL in service replaced with SIG 762!

only 7.62x39 will be in AKM from Russia.

its the future, it will be adopted by nato gradually. its better to keep abreast with future advances on tab.

6.8 is a revamped 7.62x51 plus it will be a new assembly to manufacture and has nothing to do with the existing production.

OEM manufacturer is one of those "Pop Up" company when US is involved in both war in 2000s. The Army needed a lot of parts to maintain their small arms stock, people have a milling and lathing machine would start making these part and bid for government contract. Leaving the big guy (KAC, Colt et el) focus on providing full service and support.

A lot of these company started to make hand guard, lower or upper receiver, then when they started to have excess stock, they will move on to a complete product. That's what OEM stand for. The quality of firearms is usually shit that's why they seldom have any customer, literally they are people who had Title 2 FFL with machine tool.
So this contract is also for making parts for the BW21 series.

POF probably just got a good deal on some machinery or something. Everyone freaking out like POF is gonna dump everything they have and equip all our troops with these subpar AR15s. Everyone chill out.

So assembly of parts basically supplied from abroad? Seems like another corruption laden deal
