PM pledges Pakistan safe for all religions

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday expressed his resolve to make Pakistan secure for every ethnicity and religion, and said that the federal government would facilitate provincial governments on counterterrorism by effective coordination and intelligence sharing through federal agencies.

“Pakistan will be made free from all religious and ethnic prejudices. The fruits of secure, stable and prosperous will be trickled down to every citizen. Extremism is posing a threat to the entire world and Pakistan is fighting a war against it. Pakistan will be made secure for every religion, colour and race,” he said while chairing a meeting to review the state of internal security and implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) at the PM’s House.

Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister said the gains of NAP and Zarb-e-Azb, and the progress achieved so far, would be consolidated through coordination at the federal and provincial levels. He said the country had embarked upon the right track and every citizen would reap the benefits of a secure, stable and prosperous Pakistan.

The prime minister lauded the performance of law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and security in the country. He said the elements of terrorism and extremism were receding from the country due to countless sacrifices rendered by the country’s valiant law enforcement agencies, unflinching resolve of the entire nation and efforts of the federal and provincial governments.
