Y-20 is already being tested we could see pictures released possibly before 2012 ends or early 2013, with the buzz on it lately. As for the JH-7B it is going to include some stealth features but not to updated on it.

Yes, add JL-2 SLBM and DF-41. Special DF-41, new toy big one.

Several rumors here and there but I should be more clear most likely fanboy speculation, but some credible sources like huitong state it will have stealth featues, I guess we should wait.

Yes I can say that from defence perspective year 2012 belonged to Chinese. Some major achievements:

1. J-31 - A real surprise to the world.

2. Flight landing of J-15 on AC.

3. 052D.

4. Induction of Varyag

I kinda doubt JH-7B would be very stealthy. Improved systems (radar, etc...), some air frame enhancements (more carbon fiber) and new engines (WS-9 is weak and heavy; I always felt an upgrade to AL-31 or WS-10A would do wonders for it) sounds about right. If it were to carry a huge anti-ship missile, how would it fit in stealth bays? If not in bays, then carrying a huge missile externally would give the jet away no matter how stealthy it was. And the JH-7A is so not optimized for stealth that making it stealthy would incorporate so many changes it would be a whole new aircraft (JH-8 perhaps). That single vertical stabilizer would have to be replaced with pelikan-style duo-stabilizers; the air intake would need to be snaked, which would require serious modification to fuselage, and that's just for beginners.

But the biggest problem for China, also called Heart Disease is the jet engine and warship engine problem. Weak engine industry in China, a long road to search.

Yeah, but about engine, the biggest problem for china is not whether we can design and made it, it is how to volume produce engine, and keep high quality, especially blade, all these need management support, Of course, the manufacturing equipment also are problem, especiall high level lathe.

Very glad that Government pay huge attention on equipment manufacturing industy, especially lathe, but there are still a gap between us and advanced countries, especially German and USA, we need time, it is system project, hope government can be smarter, and let more private countries enter into these dormain, more, give policy support.
