Pakistan's 1973 Constitution's original manuscript stolen.

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday issued a notice to chief federal law officer to respond to a petition calling for an investigation into an alleged theft of the original manuscript of the 1973 Constitution of Pakistan. The petitioner, Agha Syed Atta-u-Allah Shah, chairman of a non-governmental organisation, Raah-e-Raast Trust, approached the court requesting it to order interior ministry and IG Islamabad to register a case regarding theft of original draft of constitution and a probe into the matter.

In his petition, Agha submitted that some news websites have published reports revealing that the original draft of the 1973 Constitution, which bore the signatures of all the then constituent assembly members and the president, has been stolen. He said that parliamentary sources had also confirmed that the original document of the 1973 Constitution was not available in the record and the archives of the National Assembly. The petitioner said that former Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza at the time of approval of the 18th Amendment wanted to examine the original document of the Constitution but she was informed that the original draft was missing. After hearing arguments on the petition's maintainability, a two-member bench headed by Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi issued a notice to Attorney General for Pakistan for October 13.

Throw the old one in the bin- make a new more direct and precise one- add accountability and remove religious ambiguity-

May be somebody can go and say in court, this whole constitution is illegal, there was xyz clause which would allow all provinces to get separated after 25 years? Or One say, there is no rule in constitution where Parliament is declared as majlis-e-shuora.

And I believe if court don't have original menuscript, then they can give wordic in favor the one who is putting case. Unless, court declare this before that original menuscript is stolen, so current constitution should be treated as "Legal" and Main Menuscript.

Getting serious though, even though the constitution is being ragged around the streets of the country and no-one follows it, it's still a part of our history and should be preserved and stored with dignity.

i think when a new cluase is added, a new one is typed, btw they should keep the constitution in a Max security area in the parliament

Your constitution is a part of history ? There is no validity for any post be it political or official ..Its another thing whether govt runs according to constitutional wishes or not ...
