This Photo Was Taken In 1964 When The Cinema Was Very Popular With The Peshawaris. It Would Run A Weekly Show For Women In Mid-1970's. The Cinema Has Been Pulled Down Along With Five Others.

The Lansdowne Theatre, Named The Falak Sair, Was A Mixture Of Gothic And Oriental Architecture, Intricate Stonework And Floral Tiles, Masonry And Woodwork. This Grand Historic Building Was Sadly Demolished In Peshawar Saddar In 2007 To Build A Shopping Plaza. Archive From Revolutionary Period Of Development In The Pakistan.

Punjabi movies used to be funny, family friendly with the like of Rangeela and Munawar Zareef and other types of movies were still very civilised. They were like any other movie but in Punjabi.

Then the paindoos took over some were gangsters, some had political connections. That's how Punjabi films downfall began.

Now Punjabi films are made fun of and function to stereotype Punjabis in minds of other provinces. Makes me very sad.
