Pakistan Resolution- an untold story

In 1940 While the world was at war.

Muslims came up with the resolution to live in peace under protection of Allah in Pakistan.

"That geographically contiguous units are demarcated regions which should be constituted, with such territorial readjustments as may be necessary that the areas in which the Muslims are numerically in a majority as in the North Western and Eastern Zones of (British) India should be grouped to constitute ‘independent states’ in which the constituent units should be autonomous and sovereign"

The wording of the resolution in 1940 pointed to use of plural as in "independent states" and "units" thus alluding to more then one Muslim state. It appears that as we moved forward from 1940 things changed. Meaning Bangla should have been a independent country from 1947. Then all the trouble that ensued including the capture of entire Pak Army command in the east would never have happened. Sparing the national humiliation and beating stick that is used even today.

Even in 1947, everyone knew that Pakistan and bangladesh were FAR too different and physically too FAR to be one nation. It was a miracle they stayed as one nation for as long as they did.
