Pakistan Port Integral To China Maritime Expansion

China is not a limitless pit of money. It can't provide weapons to Pakistan for free. Every plane, tank and ship produced by China has to be paid by someone, if not taxpayers then foreign buyers. It's great you get warm and fuzzy, but at the end of the day warm and fuzzy feelings don't produce weapons. Commodities and money do.

Pakistan should be able to acquire weapons from China a the cheapest rate possible due to their longstanding friendship with us, but they still should still foot the bill at the end of the day.

To what benefit should China become a commercial ally/friend of Pak?

Earn some billions RMBs? And loose her right arm...

BeiJing is friend of Pak. It is in the Chinese Strategic Interests to see a stable and properous Pak.

Luckily planners and strategists in BeiJing are farsighted and will help the Iron Brother in every way.

By allowing sense of supriorities cloud our mind, we will not be able to see beyond our noses.

We should remember that Pak is China's Right Arm.

Pak people love and admire China like no other. And it is without their government encouraging them to do so.

What are a few ships or some submarines worth to defence of our right arm?

Don't be naive. A long term relationship cannot be a one way street where one side provide weapons and financial aid at no cost. It's not a viable solution. Pakistan is sovereign state, not China's right arm. It has its own geopolitical interest which happens to align with China's. This is real talk, not a group hug session.

Like I said, weapons aren't made by naive warm and fuzzy feelings. The money and materials needed to build weapons have to come from somewhere. You act like China has endless supply of money when military modernization has already slowed down this year due to economic situation. This isn't some unicorn utopia, so save the "iron brother" talk for children's books.

Your point of view is valid from your perspective. Totally understandable.
Always good to have a different perspective.

Thanks!
