Pakistan Navy’s Blue Water Ambitions Navy

The guy has depth. HE works in the interest of PK. So I would give him leeway and assume, that he is hinting at something deeper, than he is allowed to reveal.

On the flip side, I would like someone to actually do a realistic PN Blue Water capability write up.
Fair enough. However the info provided is pretty sketchy and he could have done a better job. I can only comment on yhe content of the write up.
I still think the blue water dream is a bridge too far. Brown water dream is fine but the blue water dream requires bigger and larger assetts. When we were offered a destroyer by the US we did not accept it as we did not have a port to handle a 9000ton ship.(thinking about it seems wrong as we routinely have larger ships beryhing at our harbours). So things might have changed with the deep water port but really!! A blue water navy??.

Sitting on reserves larger than Oman, you are still stuck between Brown water, and Blue water. The only water, you should be worrying about is Black. This isn't just for you, but everyone on this thread.

love you brother, and apologies for my rudeness.

When you get old, your brain takes time tocompute cryptic messages. Received and acknowledged. No offence taken. I have a very thick skin. Been married too long(Haa Haa).

South Korea is only just now transitioning to having a Blue Water Navy inducting AEGIS Destroyers and Dokdo class LPHs.

Most of their programs were initiated in mid 2000s to build new submarines, destroyers, frigates and advanced amphibious warfare capabilities.

I think theirs is a good example of how to transitioning to a blue water navy. We ain’t no South Korea but as a long term ambition its worth planning for.

I wouldn’t necessarily see the need for aircraft carriers/LPHs/light carriers. Given the situation the Royal Navy finds itself in not being able to defend UK shipping interests because of the diversion of most of the fleet to carrier escort duties it would be better if Pakistan could defend its shipping interests around Gwadar and it’s coastlines for time being.

What good are they really when we are not being able to extract them? (as in case of recent exploration at Kekra 1)

Honestly, i do not see that happening anytime soon now.

IF those fabled reserves exist in the first place!

I am not sure that lies can be made up about such things. There must be some reality behind all these stories.

How can there be a "reality" if all there is is a "story"? That is self-contradictory.

But if you mean "where there is smoke, there is fire" then please keep in mind that sometimes smoke is only good for "smoke and mirrors".

How many threads about fabulous resources in Pakistan have we had on PDF over the years?

Oh come on! You know what i am saying. :)

There have to some sort of reality for people to base STORIES or make stories about something, a news like this cannot be pure fiction in my opinion.

If these things were only on PDF i would have taken them with pinch of salt. However that is the thing, we have seen that it have been reported globally and have involved global players. That makes me certain that it is not all hogwash.

Or may be it is just another manifestation of national delusions?

Again, if our national delusions are now effecting decision making of global players like Exxon then we are going places :P

It cannot be discarded as all delusion since other parties were also involved and surely we cannot say that they were effected by national delusion of Pakistanis.
