Pakistan Navy interested in J-11Bs

Mig-35, Su-35, J-16 all would be great for PAF's use on the coast. Hell, they would be great for PAF's use anywhere, BUT the russian aircraft are unlikely, more due to Pakistan's willingness/ability to pay for them upfront (Russia unlikely to give loans). The Chinese flanker is as we know under copywrite. It is unlikley Russia will accept payment in the for just engines when it would have the oppurtunity to sell Flankers to PAF itself.

Frankly, for Pakistan's air arm, the JF-17 armed with C-802AK or CM-400AKG is the most likely option. I would however also advise PAF or PN to acquire JH-7 and equip it with Avionics from J-16 (including AESA and IRST), the WS-9A (2 engines with 22,000lbs thrust) and use it as its strike fighter with JF-17 providing escort/secondary strike. A single squadron of JH-7A could fire off 64 Missiles at incoming ships. Support these by getting the Y-8GX6 to supplement the P-3C Orions (the Y-8GX6 too can fire the C-802 (probably 4-6 missiles at a time) OR 8 torpedos) and you have a reasonable naval strike capability, especially given Pakistan's small shoreline.

No doubt JF 17 will be part of Naval Air Arm but as situation is getting worse, PN should consider at least 1 Sqd of 4.5 twin engine for deep sea strike role. J 11D comes in that category too.

Of the Russian platforms, the MiG-35 might be the most plausible. The Russians want cash up-front, but if the VKS commits to anchoring orders for domestic use, the PAF could pay cash for near-complete VKS units. Actually, the same could be done with the Su-35, but the VKS seems to really want those (more so than the MiG-35) and it is pricier. All that said, the MiG-35 won't be rolling out in numbers until 2019-2020, so we have a while.

JH-7A is nice well but that's bomber. I think, J11 D can be used for multi missions.
However, Navy can decide better what suits according to threats

No bro its main mission is anti-ship whereas J-11D is a basically air defense fighter with secondary ground attack mission and not to forget JH-7 would cheaper than J-11D

According to China source, Eagle Hannan also indicates that the Pakistan Navy is interested in the J-11Bs with Russian engines. This appears to be counter-intuitive given the sensitive nature of Russia's copyright relations with China. However, it is possible that Pakistan may attempt to placate this sensitivity by buying Russian engines and paying royalties. It is also possible that Russia is smarting from India's recent rejection of Russian military gear and move towards Western sources. These all make for a great deal of controversy and are likely to keep arm-chair generals and military analysts busy in the foreseeable future. What is clear is that Pakistan and the PAF will get a significant boost, in fact a major leap in capabilities in the next 12-24 months.

J-11B
bring on, baby! :bounce:

hello
that's good news my brother

No MiG-35s will be bought.

Pakistan should go for the J-31s.

Thanks but as you know bro, Pakistan is always struggling with Financial issues that is why dedicated things do not suit us.We always prefer multi-role fighters. We need to face Indian Mig29UB to fight with along with ships over the surface so better should have plat form that can tackle all types of coming threats
F-16
JF-17
both are preference of PAF and are multi-role as well.
