I was reading on 1971 war when PNS hangor gave prior information of Indian ships sailing towards Karachi to NHQ which was intercepted by Indian navy.

How much have communications improved from 1971 ? Both in equipment and other skills .

As already known Indians made good use of intercepting communications in land and sea which also led to complete stop of intelligence sharing b/w western and eastern PA command.

Does the navy have advanced communications today ? Instead why can't simpler coding system yet complex to enemy be assigned and exchanged during war or perhaps using military deception through disinformation ?

Pakistan should invest into Quantum Telecommunication with China, which is almost un-hackable and nearly impossible to decrypt or decipher.

Pakistan Navy has also invested very heavily in the cryptographic communications equipment and inspired by Pak Army utilises latest generation of..

The stories about 1971 mentioned by the OP are hearsay with no authenticity.
Naval Comms have come a long way since 1971.

Electronic communication done through Coding equipment is very complex with a very high level of encryption.
These message are radiated through HF Txns and cannot be decoded unless the exact key is available, which is highly unlikely.

Submarines follow the same protocol but can also communicate while submerged via VLF.

Voice comms can be monitored if done on un-encrypted channels, but due to the limited ranges of VHF/UHF, one has to be pretty close to eavesdrop.

HF Voice is not used anymore.

In 1971 Pakistan army lost interest. It wasn't worth fighting , specially when 13-14 year old boys were in the Mukti Bahini ranks and a Pakistani soldier had to shoot at him.
These stories of Indian supremacy are just stories.
If it was a war between Indian and Pakistani armed roves, results had been much different.
