Pakistan-Make no mistake

America has floated two lies about Pakistan:
  1. It runs with the hare and hunts with the hound to keep America stuck in Afghanistan and dependent on Pakistan in return for economic and military benefits. Even the demented should see that Pakistan's best bet is to facilitate America's departure from Afghanistan because as long as we keep control of our nuclear assets benefits will keep coming to us anyway - but just enough to give us the strength to pick our daily quota of cotton.
  2. We might start an accidental nuclear war with India, Balderdash. Our weapons and India's aren't deployed, 'mated' with delivery systems. Thus there can be no accident. America's and Russia's on the other hand are fully deployed, on hair-trigger alert, ready to go in seconds. That is where the danger of an accidental nuclear war really lies, and there have been many near misses.

Our real problem is our many internal contradictions that will soon make
nonsense of any redefinition of our 'alliance' with America.
  1. The civilian government and the military are not on the same page.
[*]The president and prime minister are not on the same page.
[*]The three branches of government - legislature, executive and
[*]judiciary - are spinning in their own independent orbits without reference to the other, as if they were working in different countries. And, most deadly,
[*]The people and the government are not on the same page. They want to have no truck with America and would rather do without American 'aid'
    .

.

Isnt the highlighted part what Pak has done all along ?...and taken pride in making a monkey of the US beginning with the aid it got when the Soviets were in Af ? The US didnt mind so long as its interest were not impacted and the shooting happened elsewhere.

Abbotabad has blown the lid completely and GOP ( Pindi based ) has been caught with its hands in the cookie jar while the GOP ( Islamabad) remains gleefully oblivious of what the real GOP is doing .

GOP ( both Pindi & Islamabad) cannot live with ( because) the US and cannot live without the US either.

Conspiracy theories, dear readers, remain the same, only the author’s change? Sometimes it is said that the U.S. is not leaving Afghanistan while other times it is claimed that we are abandoning the region and running. Which one is true? Let me make it clear, the United States (US) is not occupying Afghanistan… We are fighting against terrorists who wage war against the US. Forum readers do not need to be reminded of Al-Qaeda (AQ) attacks on Al-Khober towers in Saudi Arabia, the bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, and the attempted sinking of our naval ship USS Cole in the port of Aden, Yemen. Let us not forget that it was only after the 9/11 attacks on American soil that the US pursued AQ into safe havens provided for them by Afghan Taliban. There is no US strategic pipeline through Afghanistan so, dear readers, how can we take control of something that does not exist? In addition, let me restate for emphasis, we are not In Afghanistan for its mineral resources. Was not this the same baseless accusation used against us in Iraq? Have we not honored all treaties and agreements in Iraq by not taking Iraq’s natural resources --their oil fields are being operated under Iraqi licenses by Kuwaiti and Chinese companies-- and drawing down our forces on schedule.

Our real intensions are to work with the Pakistani government and military to keep Pakistan safe from terrorists. We have full confidence that the Pakistan’s nuclear assets are safe and secure and we have no intention of taking control of them.

The conspiracy theorists have their not so hidden agenda. People of this forum know who is hurting Pakistan with their daily dose of terror and death and who is focused on keeping them safe from the insurgents and militants. Our common goal is ensure the betterment of future generations by defeating terrorism.

Don't compare us to the Brits cause our intent is not making an empire that the sun never sets. We do care about reforms, the action is lay on the people in their respective countries to make it possible. Same thing for Germany and Japan, we helped them but it was the Germans and Japanese that did most of the work which after all is their country. Not to mention these countries that we helped rebuild were never our colonies. Same for Iraq and Afghanistan. If the British were so intent on reforms or our plight then there would be no American Revolution would there eh? Whoops that has to hurt.

i hope not all americans are like them as if they live in space
