Pakistan, France plan anti-terror task force
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and France will set up a joint task force for sharing information about terrorists across the world.
An accord to this effect was signed by Interior Minister Rehman Malik and his French counterpart Brice Hortefeux in Paris, said a message on Monday.
Praising Pakistans efforts against terrorism, Mr Hortefeux said France would provide technical assistance in countering terrorism.
He also praised the commitment of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, the Army and the people to root out terrorism.
Mr Malik informed his French counterpart about steps taken to curb terrorism and sacrifices rendered by the army operating against militants.
He also appreciated the French governments support for displaced people and cooperation in civilian nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
He invited the French minister to visit Pakistan. The invitation was accepted.APP
