Islamabad: Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tasnim Aslam on Thursday said that India never gave any positive response to the proposals regarding resolution of Siachen issue.

Briefing the press here, Aslam said that proposal of demilitarisation of the Saichen territory came into the previous bilateral discussions as well and making Siachen a peace park, but the Indian policy was inflexible.

"Problem came when India wasn't willing to withdraw troops without authentication of actual position they hold in the territory," she told the reporters.

"Holding bilateral negotiations between Pakistan and India on Kashmir undermining UN Security Council's resolutions was not legally possible, so that's where we stopped. The actual legal position on Kashmir was that the dispute must be resolved as per Kashmiri people's aspirations through plebiscite."

Aslam said that both sides will have to resume composite dialogues for the sake of sustainable peace in the region, adding that the consultation with Kashmiri leadership was a routine matter.

Showing its tough side, India had called off talks with the Pakistan after objecting to the Pakistan envoy's meeting with Kashmir separatists on the eve of the dialogue.

Defence Minister Arun Jaitley, after the talks were called off, had said that people within that country do not want Indo-Pak ties to be normal.

Oh Bhai logo

When you will understand

that one must not post 1000s of jawans on a glacier that has nothing to do with economic development of poor countries.

It is time we back down from jingoism and learn to live and let live

especially when 1.5+ billion people have their future hanging in the balance.

They are hopeful that when the glacier melts then the country holding the glacier will have a surplus of water :D

India talks only of peace when it suits its agenda. India has an hegemonic mindset which craves imperialism to devour its neighboring states. Expecting any progress from India on outstanding issues is not only stupid but moronic.

The solution to India is to break diplomatic ties with it, treat it as an enemy ought to be treated, close the border, cease the indirect trade and aggrasively expand our trade and business into C.Asia.

If we keep blocking the Indian access to a 100 Billion Dollar market for a few more decades, China will benefit from Indian disadvantage and Indian delusions of kingship in S.Asia will be dented irreverseably by keeping India out of C.Asia.

well after losing that hockey match with india they had to take out their frustration somewhere .

You can remove your jawans. We did that earlier and we got Kargil. No more trusting the PAK army and government till they sign the actual position for Siachin.

That plan can work only if Pakistan's own economy can survive to take advantage of it.

But we have already achieved numero uno status in South Asia. All our neighbouring States barring China and Pakistan give primacy to India on Indian concerns.
Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Bhutan.

Not even one of them is ready to give any space any anti-India activity or bloc despite hectic attempts by Pakistan and to a smaller extent China. And we have not devoured any of our neighbours. We have great and still rapidly improving relations with almost all our neighbours.

So your only saving your house or rather trying to save your house. Yes, we do have hegemonic attitude towards Pakistan but you would be a simpleton if you thought that is what we want out of our other neighbours. This is the reason why they never join Pakistan in anti-India activities.

Ergo, projecting Pakistani concerns vis-a-vis India, as concerns of 'South Asia' is a cookie no one but Pakistanis will buy.

If China solves the border issue with India by accepting LAC as permanent border or by some give and take, will the China will be same China to you when that happens?? China is friendly with you because Enemy's Enemy is my friend!!
