Peshawar: The local branch of Al-Qaeda in Pakistan's Peshawar said on Sunday its heart was "bursting with pain" over the Taliban's massacre at a Pakistan school and urged the militants to target only security forces. (Pakistan Executes Two Terrorists After Lifting Moratorium on Death Penalty)

Last week's attack killed 149 people -- most of them children of the local army personnel. The Taliban claimed it was a revenge for the army action against its families.

"Our hearts are bursting with pain and grief over this incident," Osama Mehmood, spokesman for Al-Qaeda's South Asia chapter, said in a four-page statement e-mailed to the media.

Pakistan has described the bloody rampage as its own "mini 9/11", saying it was a game changer in its fight against terror. The outrage has apparently eroded the sympathy for militants in a country where many people have long been suspicious of the US-led "war on terror". There is pressure on the army to intensify the offensive launched this year on terror havens along the Afghan border. (Pakistan: 59 Militants Killed After School Massacre)

In September, Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahri had announced the creation of the new South Asia chapter in September to "wage jihad" in Myanmar, Bangladesh and India. "There is no doubt that the list of crimes and atrocities of the Pakistani army has crossed the limit and it is true that this army is ahead of everyone in America's slavery and genocide of Muslims... but it does not mean that we should seek revenge from oppressed Muslims," Mehmood today said. "The guns that we have taken up against Allah's enemy America and its pet rulers and slave army should not be aimed towards children, women and our Muslim people," he added. The Afghan Taliban, who are loosely affiliated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, have also condemned the attack, saying killing innocent children was against Islam. They're feeling the heat and now they remember the righteous words of the faith. Too late, militants crossed the line and now there will be severe consequences.

Don't worry AQ, we can arrange for your heads to burst with pain too. :sniper:

But where are severe consequences? That TTP terrorist in Lal Mosque is openly threatening people and no action is being taken against him. Faz loo la is still enjoying his life under protection of Afghans and Indians. The mastermind is still unharmed and announcing more attacks. Judiciary is still very slow. Before international community impose any sanctions all 8000 terrorists should be executed. They must not see the sun of 2015. Why is it business as usual?

You might have seen the work that the IBOs are accomplishing, we are taking these guys out across the country, left right and centre. We are trying to deny them sanctuary in our cities and villages, yes, the big fish are still beyond our reach but that will only be for so long. Wonderful plans are a foot.

Please...it should be faster this time. My own siblings are between the ages of 12-19 and I had felt the pain and saw the tears of my mom after this incident. If we felt it, how much those who have been effected directly had been through...

A "Kharji" is a "Kharji"...no matter what name it assumes...either it's TTP, TTA, LeJ, Al-Qaeda, ISIS...!

The people are our power, as long as the nation is backing us and not them, we can accomplish the impossible. All this has been accomplished on the wave of support generated by the attack, if id doesn't die down as soon as it normally does, we should be able to accomplish a lot.

And what if the wave of support does indeed die down, as it is likely to?

If it dies down then less tip offs for us, more facilitators for them.

That is the more likely scenario, and it will make the task even harder for the Army. My concern is that the Army will hunker down even further as it tries to protect its families and commercial concerns as targets. This has the potential to soak up even more resources, increase the stress and wear and tear on both personnel and equipment, and in the long run continue to alienate the people from the Army. The terrorists know it and will take advantage of it.
