OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Says India's AI Startup Potential "Totally Hopeless"

The class of a nation is apparent when all they can do is gloat about american indian ceos, who are more like brown skinned mba prop for gatekeeping white empire institutions as "managers".

No other nation is like,"muh american ceos" ,inddians are so shameless and unhumbled doing so,typical low lQ trait, and they don't even realise it,and not like they invent anything ,other than taking checks from Wall Street cabals .
These ceos are no different than tcs IT workers in terms of actual contribution to research & innovation.

@Bilal9: And there ARE Pakistanis who are CEOs of larger companies. Even Bangladeshis to some extent, but numbers will be smaller.

Bilal bhai,

Can you name some of them?

Regards
Bangladesh is in making of cloths , towels , bedsheet and lungi . may be bilal is talking about some CEO of cloth factory.

Foreign investors came to India with high hopes of a big market and cheap labor; yet they all left with a broken heart and pockets with holes.
And then they parked their investment trucks in Lahore after crossing wagha border .

Funny thing is, of all Chinese Tech companies he could have used for proxy bragging, he chose TikTok.
Many pakistanis made thousands of rupees by making tik tok dance videos, this guy may be on of those beneficiary.

Altman said that a wrong question had been asked to him and reiterated that with an investment of $10 million, India would find it tough to compete with OpenAI.

"this is really taken out of context! the question was about competing with us with $10 million, which i really do think is not going to work. but i still said try! however, i think it’s the wrong question," Altman wrote on Saturday.

Clickbait BS. Don't understand why people from Pakistan (& old Pakistan) are making a fuss, or Indians in here talking about Google CEOs. What kind of intelligent discussion is this?
$10 million is not enough to compete, Heck even $10 billion might not be sufficient

Agree 100% Riaz bhai.

This reflects more on Modi's politics.

A comparison with China will not translate to better vote statistics for Modi.

In fact - even a comparison with Bangladesh does not translate well for votes either - Indians try to hide the fact that Bangladesh GDP per capita nominal is higher than India. Modi's juggernaut is built on puffed up propaganda with BS "showcase" projects. A few glitzy malls and airports for the rich does not a super power make.

India and Indians outside of the backoffice jobs bandwagon are still in the same sad place economically as they were when Modi took office.

And backoffice isn't doing all that hot either.

The backoffice is the reason India has not gone to the IMF since 1991. Unlike one neighbor of India who seems to make a habit of visiting them.

The first question comes why an Indian only ? Why not Riaz Haq
Why not any other pakistani ?
Answer is level of education in India is better than pakistan .

It's a mistake to assume that everyone wants to be a CEO of an established company.

There are many who choose to be entrepreneurs rather than corporate managers.

There's a long and illustrious list of successful Pakistani entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley and elsewhere in the world.

Comparing yourself to "muslim world" is like the special olympics.

"Pakistanis Make Up Silicon Valley's Largest Foreign-Born Muslim Group"

you are comparing muslims only ? Then you are singing raga of victimhood and islamophobia ? Why showing victim card of being muslim . They gave you green card , job , opportunity to live a life of luxury and do business without discrimination .Living in America for such a long time you should know that American society dont discriminate on basis of religion , not at least where merit is concerned . No company will compromise if it is getting better muslim CEO .

From your answer it looks pakistanis Bangladeshis dont want to become CEO of microsoft , google , apple , twitter, but they want to work in these big and even in smaller companies ? As if somebody says that i want to study in a class but do not want to top in the class . Indians are working in silicon valley and heading these tech giants because they deserve it , Indian tech institutions are far far better than pakistani and bangladeshi institutes .

The list of people who want to be CEO of Google and Microsoft is a long one. To suggest otherwise is sour grapes.

Dwarfed by even longer list of Indian entrepreneurs and people of other nationalities

@RiazHaq FYI if Pakistanis were good entrepreneurs you won't be hitting the IMF for 20+ times

If India was such a great place to live and contribute then people like Pichai would not renounce their Indian nationality. And they wouldn't flee the country.

Nine out of 10 top scorers in the annual joint entrance examination held nationally for admission to the IITs and other reputed engineering colleges have migrated. Up to 36% of the top 1,000 scorers, too, have taken this path, according to the paper published this month.
