Gur Khatri is an important monument in the old city of Peshawar. In ancient times it was the centre of Buddhism, later Hindus acquired it as their place of worship.

Both Emperor Akbar and Jahangir considered it a place of Jogis (Hindu Saints). In 1640 AD, Jahan Ara Begum, daughter of Emperor Shah Jahan, converted the place into Sarai Jahanabad and had a Jama Masjid and a Hammam built.

During the Sikh period, the mosque was destroyed and the temple of Gorakhnath was built in its place.

Gor Kattri, is a religious spot for Buddhists and Sikhs in Peshawar city, Pakistan.
