Minister for Power Division Omar Ayub Khan said on Friday that credit did not go to the PML-N government for ending load-shedding in the country as the past government left behind an unpaid circular debt of Rs650 billion.

Addressing a press conference, the minister said the previous government did not enhance the power tariff despite NEPRA’s determination to win the general elections and continued power supply to loss making feeders resulted in the piling up of Rs200 billion in dues.

He said currently, there was zero load-shedding on 8,790 feeders during sehri and iftari and around 80% feeders have been completely cleared of power theft.

He said an additional revenue of Rs81 billion was generated through recovery from the private sector during October, 2018 to April, 2019. The minister said that no concession would be given to power pilferers and the circular debt would be zero by December, 2020.

IMO, rather than credit it is debit to all those who were involved in campaign against hydroelectric projects on ethnic basis or vested interests to promote thermal electricity for kickback in furnace oil/gas import contracts and looted/looting the nation with IPP and rental power plants.
The main reason of why Pakistan faced the darkness of quarter century that destroyed the economy of Pakistan to date.
All those involved or had link to this should be prosecuted and hanged in public.

Cost per unit of hydro is 50 paisa to 1.5 rs, but some stupids think that how to fullfill their pockets instead of benefits to awaam

They did increase generation capacity so they do deserve some credit. They increased our external debt by 50% in their 5 years so at least some of that money was put to good use.

This PTI Government is doing some serious stuff against theft of electricity. No loadshedding this year in Ramadan.

Although PMLN increased the generating capacity but PMLN did a mistake, I am not saying it was deliberate but it was a blunder.

PMLN didn't upgrade & update the transmission lines that can only bear the load of electricity almost 19MW thousand

Right now generating capacity is 32MW thousand and demand is 24MW thousand. Therefore Pakistan still facing load shedding despite having surplus electricity. Because transmission lines can't tolerant the burden of 32MW thousands.
These Youthias r baboons.Naach na janay aangan terah.PML N ends load shedding in Pakistan.:pakistan:

Overall load shedding is down. That much is apparent from my personal experience, the comments on this forum as well as the stories in the media. Usually at this time of the year the press is filled with stories about load shedding but that's not the case this year. So I'm guessing they must have invested some money in T&D systems as well because otherwise the situation would not have improved to the extent it has.
