New Ukrainian Government bans Tatarian and Russian Language in the Crimea

Democracy at work!

Democracy at its finest!

Wow!

It's your imagination. Bastion of Nazism and fascism-Galicia. Stalin was too kind to those bastards, instead of kill all the traitors, he is after 3-5 years in prison leave them home. But they did not forget for whom their grandfathers fought. They hated the Soviet state, and when the USSR was collapse - began to hate Russia and Ukraine.

I hope that Ukraine will be divided. Russian residents of Eastern Ukraine has nothing common with the Galicians - nor history, nor language, nor religion.

do not forget the south and crimea

Now its getting hotter, Russia should not be deterred by the EU imperialists

Really even though Stalingrad essentially doomed the entire Nazi offensive, but El Alamein is major. Rommel was undermanned and under equipped. 90% of all Nazi forces were in Russia and the best of the best was in Stalingrad and Moscow, but El Alamein is the victory that sealed it. El Alamein is a sideshow that affected the war in no major way, if El Alamein was lost by the allies, the damage would have been minimal, if Stalingrad had been lost then Nazis could turn millions of troops onto allies in the West.

As to American help, most of the weapons used by Soviets were soviets, Soviet tanks and guns were the best in the world, Americans didn't have it.

Americans helped, but wasn't decisive, it wasn't even much of a factor, Stalin would not have lost regardless of American help, but it was nice to have it.

As to Japanese, they were fascist, not national socialism, but that's not the point is it.

When Japanese surrendered, 1.2 million was in China, since 1942 China has stalled the Japanese, so that the majority and the best was trapped in China.

Americans defeated Japanese navy, but it didn't defeat Japanese land troops.

How much did British, Australians and Russians kill and hold the Japanese for the Americans to have a huge advantage.

To claim Chinese was a sideshow in WW2 is stupid, Australia wasn't in the big 5 member states, British got in due to European theater.

check out these casualties and say that China wasn't the main actor in the Japanese war, perhaps we didn't finish it and get the big prize, but we contributed the most. To claim otherwise is to ignore history.

But then again, why would a western educated dude, be any the wiser to the contributions of none Western nations, even as it is happening. However, I do understand, every nation does the same thing, so this isn't an attack or anything.

I took history in Canada, you think Canadians won the war for everyone, lol.

USA defeated the Japanese Navy and the Japanese Army in places like the Philippines and Okinawa.
It also crippled the Japanese economy by sinking a substantial part of the Japanese Merchant Fleet.
Finally USA crippled the Japanese will to desist by dropping bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The British managed to stop the planned Invasion of India (with Chinese assistance), and China
managed to fight Japan to a halt, with some victories in 1945 (with a lot of US aid) but did not defeat the Japanese Army.

You could say that the Soviet Army routed Japan in Manchuria the last week of the war, but the outcome
was not really affected by that. Only post-war results.

So for the end result of the war, the US is the main component.

The effect of El-Alamein was that Hitler was kept from the oil supplies of Middle East, and considering
the shortage of oil in the latter part of the war, this is quite important.
(Maybe Germany should have drilled for oil in Libya instead)?

It also resulted in the invasion of Sicily.

The German Army was not defeated at Stalingrad (only the 6th Army). The final straw was the failure at Kursk.
Operation Zitadelle was aborted a few days after Hitler found out about the invasion of Sicily
and the II SS Panzer Corps which was the true elite of Germany was sent to Italy.
It was mostly used in the West after D-Day.

Googling gives the following (maybe unreliable) figures:
Soviet got some 22,000 aircraft and 12,000 tanks, compared to 50,000 T-34s,
but the logistical support in form of trucks, jeeps and locomotives were massive.
375,000 trucks , 50,000 jeeps and 2,000 locomotives. That seems quite important.
Also shipped 15 Million Army boots.
Saw a claim that the total production of locomotives during the war by Soviet was 20.

I think that this clearly indicate the significance of the US aid.

On top of that, the majority of the Luftwaffe fighters was kept at home allowing
Soviet Air Superiority over the Battlefield.
