ISLAMABAD: A new rain spell is likely to hit twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad from Sunday, KPK, Gilgit Baltistan and adjoining areas while good rains forecast in Balochistan and Sindh from starts from weekend.

An official of Met office said that the second spell of January is expected to be quite good especially for Balochistan.

“Another active westerly wave is likely to enter in the country through Balochistan on Friday under the influence of this weather system”, he told APP.

He added that rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at a number of places in Balochistan from Friday while later it would enter in Punjab and upper areas of the country till Sunday.

While rain-thunderstorm is also expected at isolated places in Sindh during weekend. In Khaber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA, rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in KP, FATA from Saturday to Wednesday.

He informed that in Punjab and federal capital, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir, rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in upper Punjab from Sunday to Wednesday whereas at isolated places in Southern Punjab.

The official said day temperatures are likely to fall in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad during the rains pell while it would rise afterwards.

Fog is also likely to subside at few places due to rain, he further informed adding that shower in Balochistan and Sindh would have a good impact on crops.

Rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at a number of places in Balochistan, while at isolated places in KP,FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, Sindh and Punjab.

In last 24 hours weather remained very cold and dry in most parts of the country. Foggy conditions prevailed over few plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours.

Lowest temperatures recorded on Friday remained Skardu -13øC, Astore -12øC, Kalam -11øC, Gupis -10øC, Malamjabba -08øC, Bagrote, Kalat, Dir -07øC, Gilgit, Rawalakot -06øC, Parachinar, Hunza -05øC, Quetta, Drosh -04øC, Chitral, Murree -03øC, Islamabad -01øC, Muzaffarabad, Peshawar 01øC, Faisalabad, Lahore 02øC, Multan 05øC, Hyderabad 09øC and Karachi 11øC. – SAMAA.AGENCIES

Actually, environment changed drastically due to global warming since couple of years otherwise, Karachi was famous for Moonsoon and all that rainy weather.... but not now and one of the reason is, less trees or mostly chopped and frequent buildup of buildings and plazas without any greenery or preserving nature.

It's been a long time indeed.... however, ye sach ha k greenery tabah ho gai ha due to mismanagement...
