Need to counterbalance China's bullying role in South China Sea

.....
Many would point to the string of confrontations in East Asia that happened to concur with US return to the region and seem not convinced that the American “rebalance” is indeed beneficial to regional stability. It should be noted, however, that tensions in the East and South China Sea had smoldered before the Obama administration announced the “pivot” – even before the administration took office. What is truly disturbing for regional peace and stability is the correlation between signs of US withdrawal from Asia and China’s moves to advance its interests to many regional countries’ chagrin. In 1974, when American troops were beginning to leave Vietnam after the signing of the Paris Accord, China took advantage of Vietnam’s situation to capture the Paracels from South Vietnamese forces. In the early 1990s, Manila’s decision to discontinue to host American military base in the Philippines hastened further American disengagement from the region, and the Filipinos paid quite a dear price for their decision as China, emboldened by US troops’ departure from Philippine shores, leveled up its assertiveness at the Mischief Reef.[10]Apparently the Clinton administration’s demonstration of US resolve and commitment to Taiwan’s security in 1996 forced Beijing to review its strategy and adopt a more nuanced “charm offensive” towards its neighbors. Yet a decade of relative calmness in the South China Sea began to fade away as the Bush administration appeared to be indulged in the war on terrorism.[11] In formulating and executing the “pivot”, the Obama administration was responding to regional events rather than precipitating those events; in fact, Washington was answering US allies and friends’ concerns about China’s power trajectory and perceivable US distractedness in ways that help assuage those concerns rather than precipitate them and allow unnecessary conflicts to transpire.

The (continued) need for American "Pivot to Asia"

Paracels and Spratly Islands belong to Vietnam from long time ago.

China map of Qing dynasty 1904, last point of China is Hainan Island.

Stupid Viets are still using a fake map to challenge our claim on SCS.
The map you showed is a crappy replica of 《皇朝直省地舆全图》(Dynasty Direct-controlled Provincial Map).It has clearly said to describe provinces directly under the jurisdiction of central government. However,to maintain such a huge empire not all the territory is included in provincial system such as islands and "将军辖区"(Mukden、Uliastay、Yili etc. )
Also, this map has some ridiculous mistakes.
There was no Latin Chinese phonetic alphabet in 1904,it was created in 1955 by Character Reform Committee to simplize Chinese education.
Hainan was called as 琼州/琼崖 in 1904.海南Hainan was given the name in 1947 by Nationalist China.

The words on the top of the map also said that the map was based on foreign missionary's journey of Qing's 13 provinces. No need to say more it's too long to translate

This is such a advanced map!

Bluffing is useless
We all know your military capabilities

"neo colonialism" when we are helping Africans to develop without any strings attached

"bullying" when our lands were gifted to the lackey states of the bullying hegemonies (S Tibet and Diaoyu Islands) and when we havent fire a shot during the last 30 years at the thuggish states which have occupied our lands at SCS

Doesn't matter if Arunachal pradesh or S Tibet as you call it was some historical Chinese land, the simple fact is it is now Indian Land with Indians living on it & please don;'t mistake us for a small island nation is SCS that can't fight back
Stop this madness or your children will pay the price

We're not bullying anyone :)

But we do take a very firm stance on our territorial integrity. It's totally non-negotiable. Opportunistic peripheral states looking to encroach on our land may have been emboldened by past successes against other neighbors. India has stolen Bangladeshi, Pakistani, Nepalese and Sikkimese land and Vietnam has seized Cambodian land. The sweet taste of expansion has given them a sugar rush, and like hyenas, now they're looking for more prey. Unfortunately for them, China is no pushover. Their expansionism stops at their proper border with China.

You might want to add Sri Lankan & Maldivian land too since you have forgotten those
You challenge our territorial integrity & we will make sure your dream of becoming the most successful Chinese empire will be over forever

We don't want you to loose sleep,we want you to simply give up the claims to our territory which has our people in it or are you willing to risk nuclear war over such a small piece of land

 that's some tough talk coming from a 3rd world disease filled country where half the population still defecates in the streets.

India doesn't have and will never have the resources necessary to compete against China.

If China truly wanted to play hardball with India, India will not be part of either BRICS or SCO and the dozens of separatist movements inside India will get massive funding and weaponry from China to completely destabilise India. India is not a united country, its an artificially formed union between many different ethnic groups with their own cultures which never last long.

Whatever India can do, China can do much much more damage to hurt India.

Don't write checks you can't cash kid :coffee:
1st bold part - That was quite below the belt. China is not still developed. China is also filled with the same diseases. So unless China somehow eradicates them, keep your mouth shut and stay away from such remarks.
2nd bold part - What kind of resources India won't have that China has?
3rd bold part - India is not a member of SCO as of yet. And without India there would be no BRICS, what would it have been called, BRC, assuming SA joined last.
4th bold part - Provide same to Pakistan for free, if China can.
5th bold part - That is how countries are formed, isn't it?

Bro there is no need to bring india into the picture. The discussion is more about their claims in SCS. Let it be.

no,not only.sea stratagem.we need it to develop marine technology industry and more

Offtopic: Where are you from, buddy? You should put your flags on, btw.

Addendum: Sure, i agree that cooperative maritime operations can be done with the right partners. Joint maritime exercises is doable and can be the basis for a Balance in this precarious region.

Being aggressive and bullying is much preferable to being weak and bullied. In real global politics, there is no in between (if we rule out "stooges" who are favored and thus protected).

Exactly, that's why most people in China now are anti-KMT.

The more KMT has tried to distort the truth and bashed CPC, the more backlash response from the Chinese people against KMT.

KMT has paid a large number of tabloid to make up the history revisionism, while nearly all people in China now have lost the respect for them.
