National Assembly Passes Resolution to Name Islamabad International Airport After corrupt Benazir Bhutto

Dr Abdus Salam was a national hero and he deserves to have an important building named after him. If we can't honor our heroes then we as a nation don't deserve anything good.
Just goes to show how insecure and shallow we are. we are a mob.
a lynch mob. that will gather just to rant ,tear down and destroy anything that doesn't suit their myopic narrative.

back to the topic. the word shaheed is whored to death. As for naming, to stay true to the Pakistani political culture they can name is Zardari or Falz Rehman park hotel or airport for all its worth.

Dear Imran never expected this from you and before this i tell you I dislike PPP but she is dead now and there is no credible proof she did corruption all cases are made by sharifs anyway I also must say no need to name it with any ones name but what you are done not right either

It SHOULD BE NAME LIKE WELCOME TO BANANA REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ..so sad to say this.
Yes a better name

Might as well name the country Bhuttoistan while we are at it.

There should be some kind of national policy that key infrastructure should not have partisan names, unless literally in the hometown of the person. It wouldn’t really be a issue, other then the fact that it is another perverse motive for the continuation of the same politicians.

It would be better off, if entrepreneurs or key national hero’s that helped built up the nation were recognized with key infrastructure being named after them.

On the point of objection, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan MQM-P) member Kishwar Zehra protested against non-inclusion of her resolution about renaming the Islamabad International airport after former prime minister Liaquat Ali Khan in the agenda.

She said that a resolution to rename the airport after Benazir Bhutto was passed during the debate on the flood situation. “It is unfair not to include my resolution in the agenda,” the lawmaker said. Later the proceedings were adjourned till Wednesday morning.

What role BB played in construction of Islamabad International? what developments were made by PPPP government in BB Hospital Rawalpindi during their government? Why this airport should be named after her. I believe we need to name airports considering history and culture.
I believe the best thing to name after BB are IPPs.

You are so ignorant. Do you remember how Benazir died in the end? She was killed when she knew she was likely to be murdered, and she bravely stood on the roof of the car and waved to the crowd even though Karachi had already been assassinated. There are few political figures in the world like Benazir brave? Can a person who is completely unafraid of death be corrupt? A corrupt person is most afraid of death, because if he dies, he will have no chance to enjoy his money, but Benazir is not afraid of death at all, very, very brave.

When she was in power she held power for 2-3 years and was ousted because economy started to fail

All the places constructed are from Public tax collection or income from Pakistan's local budget
Benazir's first two prime ministerships were not so successful because she was under 40 years old, too young and inexperienced, and the Pakistani army and intelligence agencies have always been very hostile to her. But in 2007, Benazir was 54 years old, fully matured in political experience, and most importantly, she was very brave, proposing many policies that Pakistani male politicians would never dare to mention, such as promoting Western civilization and Reconciliation of Islamic civilization, allowing the US military to enter Pakistan to fight extremists, allowing the International Atomic Energy Agency to relieve Kadir Khan, promoting reconciliation between Pakistan and India, reforming the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence Agency, and hoping that Europe and the United States will promote a new version of the Marshall Plan to Pakistan and reduce Pakistan’s military expenditure Spending money on education and medical care, she is the only one who dared to publicly support Musharraf's actions against the Red Mosque. Which male politician in Pakistan has her courage and vision? It can be said that Benazir was killed 10 days before the election is the most regrettable thing in the history of Pakistan, it is so sad
