Deal is signed with MKE for 20.000 units of MPT-76 which costs 80 mln TL...

Müsteşarlığımızca yürütülmekte olan Modern Piyade Tüfeği Projesi kapsamında; Savunma Sanayii İcra Komitesi tarafından sözleşme görüşmelerine başlanmasına karar verilen Seri Üretim Dönemi Sözleşmesi, Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi Kurumu (MKE) ile Müsteşarlığımız arasında 02 Temmuz 2015 tarihinde yaklaşık 80 Milyon TL bedelle imzalanmıştır.

Kara Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı, Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutanlığı ve Jandarma Genel Komutanlığı birliklerine teslim edilecek, ilk etaptaki ihtiyaç olan 35.014 adet MPT-76’nın tedarik edilmesi amacıyla yürütülen proje kapsamında, MKE ile imzalanan Modern Piyade Tüfeği Projesi Seri Üretim Dönemi (Dönem-2) Sözleşmesi kapsamında 20.000 adet MPT-76 üretilecektir. İlk aşama teslimatlarının tamamlanmasının ardından proje faaliyetleri devam edecek ve silahlı kuvvetlerimizin tüm 7,62 mm piyade tüfeği ihtiyacı MPT-76 ile karşılanacaktır.

Modern Piyade Tüfeği Projesi Seri Üretim Dönemi Sözleşmesi silahlı kuvvetlerimizin ihtiyaçlarının milli imkânlarla karşılanması yönünde atılmış önemli bir adımdır. Tasarım ve geliştirmesi tamamen millî imkânlarla tamamlanmış, zorlu koşullarda kalifiye edilmiş olan MPT-76’nın seri üretim döneminde, öncelikle silahlı kuvvetlerimiz olmak üzere tüm dost ve müttefik ülkelerin hafif silah ihtiyacının karşılanması hedeflenmektedir.

Got to say fellas, this is hands down THE most SEXIEST rifle produced in the last 20-30 years. Makes the G36 look like a toy. Only the AK-47, M16 and the Chinese type 095 are in the same tier. This in 7.62 format? I would LOVE to shoot one. Give up a nut to get that chance. Good going, good hunting, and good exporting guys!

I think when production increases price may drop a bit depending on exports... Because TSK's request is already known and they calculated this 4.000 TL(currently $1.493) price with this amount...

What matters is the price at civilian market, you know there's a skyscraper high between the price for civilians and government employees (TSK/EGM/GM/CTE). We'll see it soon when it enters US market.

Turkey can export a lot of these to the US (in semi-auto version only). Those damn gun nut s love 7.62's, especially brand new versions. If prices right, they will pick this instead of the FN SCAR and the HK 416.
