DRDO : " Army Saab suniye, we can make it for you, magar it will not be quality you're used to at first. In fact...ek minute, chai biskut ka time aaya, vapaas aa 15 min ke baad"

Russia to Indian military: Nyet tovarisch, don't listen to that cyka DRDO, here's a Natascha, she show you good time over vodka, buy our stuff"

France to Indian military: Oui mon ami, we also give you best yes? C'est magnifique.

HAL : I can also into relevance

Yanks to Indian govt : now listen here pardner, you got a damn fine military, but y'all ain't going nowhere without...

Justin Trudeau :Look at meeeeeee im wearing indian clothes too. Balle balle.

DISCLAIMER: All meant in good fun, I'm incredibly bored waiting for my xbox to update :-)

The needs are being met.... The wants are not

What a useless premise... If we just go by what the Armed Forces would like to have the budget would balloon up in no time.

You ask a Admiral how many carriers he wants and he'll say 5, You ask a General how many more tanks he'd like and he'll say a 1000 more

Doesn't mean that they're a priority right now or that not giving into their demands means that their needs are being left aside.

In a Coronavirus situation we should be thankful that the Capex budget went up 15%.

Coupta Ji knows this very well and is just trying to stir up trouble

You write a lot of words but manage to say very little. The article is much more articulate. In an era were you buy a token amount of new systems (Rafaels, Sig rifles, Apache gunships), much of your forces continue to operate equipment over 50 years old (MIG-21s, Cheetaks, Bren guns etc).

Essentially India is learning a painful lesson, No country on the planet can afford to equip it's military of over 1.5 million simply with imports, however the import addiction continues.

Hmm gotta make sure the replacement for the Mig is an indigenous plane then.... Oh wait it already is

What about the Cheetahs and Cheetaks.. Oh wait they're being replaced by an Indian item as well

Let me see what about the Bren guns and INSAS... Both of them are going to replaced by Indian produced guns.

What about Missiles then.. Oh great all R-73 and other Russian Air to air and air to ground will also be replaced by Indian missiles.

The Sigs, Apaches, Rafales, Meteors and whatnot are silver bullet acquisitions for AFSOD , Northern command Border troops and other roles

But at the end of the day there will be many more Tejas than Rafales ,LCH's than Apaches , Astras than Meteors , Akash than Russian SAMs, K-9s than M777s and plenty of other systems.
