The Argentinian football star Lionel Messi’s biggest and youngest fan from Afghanistan Murtaza Ahmadi has been forced to abandon Afghanistan months after he charmed the internet with plastic bag shirt.

According to reports, Murtaza was forced to seek refuge in the neighboring Pakistan amid deteriorating security situation and fears of kidnapping.

He has left the country together with his family members and has shifted to Quetta city of Pakistan, with his family members saying the decision was taken to prevent the possible kidnapping attempt as Murtaza became famous in the country as well as globally for his photographs that went viral.

In an interview with BBC Urdu, Murtaza has said he still loves Messi and is keen to meet him but his family members have said the Afghanistan Football Federation promised to arrange a meeting for his son with the football star but nothing happened afterwards.

Meanwhile, reports emerged earlier last month suggesting that Murtaza will not meet the star with a source in Leo Messi Foundation saying “The meeting is not taking place. We get thousands of requests from children all over the world and the truth is that we cannot cover them all.”

“We’d like to but it’s impossible,” the sources told the UK-based MailOnline newspaper.

However, Murtaza’s dreams were partially achieved last month after he received signed shirts from the football star.

Murtaza hails from Ghazni, a restive province located in southeastern part of Afghanistan. The original photos of Murtaza wearing the plastic shirt was taken by his elder brother Hamayon who published them on his Facebook page.

How feasible would joining Afghanistan with Pakistan be? Because most of the country is really backwards and the tribal mentality of the people means there will be war till eternity there . America spent more than than the martial plan there and yet nothing changed .

What i have noticed we Pakistani's including me from last 4 to 5 years have become very harsh to afghans(certain causes +their stubborn attitude and inflated ego)but still i think it's not our culture and neither our religion gives permission for such behavior for guests..We should take some certain precautions but we should welcome these muhajirs .. I am telling you it is not worth it, I have encountered countless Afghans in Canada who openly hate Pakistan yet when asked how they left Afghanistan it is always the same story. They move to Pakistan as refugees then live there for years, have kids and then move to Canada as a family on PAKISTANI passports. Despite their reliance on Pakistan they will continue to hate it and become ultra nationalist Afghans blaming Pakistan for Afghanistan's troubles.

Afghan province as member of provinces of Pakistan is very logical , in fact it s the only solution

Due to cultural ties , it can fit well as the 6th Prince of Pakistan

Logistically it is not an issue as both countries are connected at border

Afghan land by itself has many issues but with in Pakistan's provincial framework it came become a society that contributes to the over all goal of peace and harmony

A strong Pakistani Military & Police system would ensure 100,000 Troops are trained and also the Terrorist are destroyed in their own turf

I am surprised that his family has been allowed to shift to Pakistan like it's moving from one city to another within Pakistan. He may be a kid but these Afghans when grown up always bite the hand that feed them (Pakistan). I am telling you it is not worth it, I have encountered countless Afghans in Canada who openly hate Pakistan yet when asked how they left Afghanistan it is always the same story. They move to Pakistan as refugees then live there for years, have kids and then move to Canada as a family on PAKISTANI passports. Despite their reliance on Pakistan they will continue to hate it and become ultra nationalist Afghans blaming Pakistan for Afghanistan's troubles.

This. Maybe the second or third generation of those that stay put in Pakistan feel less hate for Pakistan and gradually become 'Pakistanized', but definitely those that move abroad after milking Pakistan do their utmost to paint Pakistan as the reason why their country is messed up. This is a generalization I know, but based on personal experiences and those of other Pakistanis like yourself this is what I have seen. Recently my brother when to an Afghani mosque in the UK for Jummah and said he left the Khutbah half way in due to the hateful speech of the mullah, blaming foreigners "especially" Pakistan as well as the "kafir" americans for the state of their country (of course no fault of their own). Further this is a narrative that Kabul has now picked up and in conjunction with the Afghani diaspora abroad is being used by them as a form of soft power against Pakistan. They want the world to forget the decades of Afghani attempts to incite revolts and rebellions in Pakistan as well as hosting terrorists who have recked havoc in Pakistan, and are now playing the "oh we are the small innocent weak country being picked on by evil Pakistan" card. I used to be sympathetic to them once, but now see their 'ehsan faramoshi' as worse than our relationship with Indians. At least our relationship with the Indians is straight forward whereas these guys use the guise of religious brotherhood for their own benefit.
